Ford Mondeo details revealed
Next Mondeo will launch Ford’s advanced active park assist and new suspension design.
The all-new Ford Mondeo will be offered in five-door, four-door and estate versions and will feature the European debut of Ford’s new advanced active park assist. The Mondeo will also be the first new model built on the company’s global CD-segment platform, which includes new suspension designed to deliver superior comfort.
Adaptive full-LED headlamps, powered boot lid, panoramic retractable roof and massage function multi-contour seats are also available as extras for the first time.
As previously reported, the Mondeo will be equipped with Ford’s award-winning 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine, while also offering a 1.6-litre diesel ECOnetic version. Both are expected to deliver best-in-class fuel economy. A four-door petrol hybrid electric and an all-wheel-drive diesel model will also be available for the first time.
The Mondeo will be equipped with Ford’s SYNC driver assist system, which features MyFord Touch in-car connectivity, centred on an eight-inch colour touchscreen that can act as a WiFi hotspot for up to five mobile devices. SYNC allows drivers to control mobile devices, media players, climate control and sat-nav through voice commands.
In terms of safety, the new Mondeo is fitted with inflatable rear seatbelts – a first in Europe. Designed to reduce head, neck and chest injuries in rear passengers, the belt rapidly expands upon impact to spread the force more safely across the passenger’s body.
