Honda Civic unveiled at Frankfurt
The all-new Honda Civic receives its official unveiling at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Honda has released details of the latest Honda Civic hatchback at the 2012 Frankfurt Motor Show. The new Honda Civic arrives in UK dealerships in January 2012 promising cheaper running costs, higher comfort levels and improved driving dynamics.
Now in it's ninth generation the Civic is longer and wider than the outgoing model featuring LED running lights, a new front grille and bumper, larger wheel arches and a lower rear spoiler designed to improve rear visibility.
The range of engines include an updated 2.2-litre DTEC diesel, which has an extra 10bhp, to 148bhp. Emitting 110g/km of CO2, the new diesel unit commands an annual Road Tax bill of just £20.
Also available, the 1.8-litre petrol engine will produce 140bhp, with emissions of 138g/km. All engines get a six-speed manual gearbox as standard with an auto option offered on the 1.8 petrol.
The cabin promises higher quality materials, whilst retaining the familiar cockpit-style dashboard and class-leading luggage space and large boot.
All models will also receive driver, passenger, curtain and side airbags plus automatic braking which slows the car at slow speeds to avoid slow speed collisions.
