Hyundai Veloster - prices and specs
The Hyundai Veloster one+two door coupe will be priced from £17,995 when it goes on sale in early 2012.
On sale in the UK in February 2012, the new Hyundai Veloster coupe will be priced from £17,995.
Initially available with just one engine - a 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol unit that produces 140bhp, the Veloster will also be capable of 47.9mpg and 137g/km in fuel-efficient 'Blue Drive' spec.
The coupe body incorporates two front doors and one rear passenger nearside door. Hyundai has engineered the Veloster so that it can be offered in either left or right hand drive form, suiting all global markets.
Hyundai will offer two versions of the new coupe, the Veloster and Veloster Sport, with the option of a six-speed manual or the Korean maker's first dual-clutch gearbox.
Standard models will use 17-inch alloy wheels, a 7-inch touch screen media device, Bluetooth, climate control, reversing sensors, fog lights and LED daytime running lights. Standard models also receive a radio/CD player with iPod connection - controllable from a leather bound steering wheel.
Veloster Sport models will be priced from £20,495, adding 18-inch wheels, heated leather seats, a panoramic sunroof, cruise control, keyless entry with push button starting and alloy pedals to the standard spec.
Sport models can also be upgraded with the optional Media Pack which includes sat-nav with rear view parking camera, Parking Guidance System, upgraded stereo and red leather interior.
A Hyundai spokesperson commented, “The new Veloster will bring added emotional appeal to the Hyundai brand. It showcases a sleek and distinctive design in an innovative three-door coupe form that provides practicality, and individuality as well as dynamic performance. It offers a bold new colour palette and with the choice of bigger wheels with colour inserts, panoramic sunroof and the option of red leather interior on the higher Sport trim level, customers can stand out from the crowd. We expect the Veloster’s unique combination to re-shape its segment and attract new buyers to the brand.”
As usual, all Hyundai models come with a five-year warranty that includes roadside assistance and annual health checks.
