New Toyota Yaris available to order

The third generation Toyota Yaris will come in four grades - T2, TR, SR and range topping T Spirit.

This new model offers buyers sharper styling, improved quality and more affordable multimedia packages. A new Toyota Touch package, incorporating a touchscreen audio system, Bluetooth phone connection, a USB port for MP3 players and a rear parking camera, is fitted to all but the entry level model as standard. It is also possible to upgrade to the Touch and Go package, which includes sat nav.

Engines are carried over from the previous model, but they have been updated to produce fewer emissions. The line-up consists of 1.0-litre or 1.3-litre petrol engines and a 1.4-litre diesel.

The 1.4-litre diesel comes with a six-speed manual gearbox and produces 89bhp and 205Nm of torque. It's capable of returning 72.4mpg, and with emissions of 104g/km, this is a seven per cent improvement over the previous model.

Toyota believes the TR model will account for over 65% of Yaris sales, as it comes with all engine and transmission combinations and in three and five-door bodystyles. Exterior features include 15-inch alloy wheels and a rear parking camera. The Toyota Touch package also comes as standard.

First deliveries are expected to reach customers by September.
