Skoda Citigo city car

Skoda unveil their Volkswagen Up! rival, the Citigo, due on sale in the UK by summer 2012.

Using the recently unveiled Volkswagen Up! platform, Skoda's new Citigo city car will be on sale in the UK by summer 2011.
The new city car is almost identical to the Up! featuring a long wheelbase and small dimensions but with slightly revised styling.
The Citigo uses a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder engine available in either 60bhp or 75bhp form fitted to both normal and high efficiency versions. The greenest models are capable of returning fuel consumption figures of up to 67.3mpg and 65.7mpg.
Both economy models produce less than 100g/km of CO2 meaning that owners are exempt from paying Road Tax and the London Congestion Charge.
At the front, Skoda designers have included a new finned grille and different shape headlights to the Up!, whilst at the rear the 251-litre boot and tailgate differ very little.
The standard 75bhp version features a five-speed manual gearbox and is capable of going from 0-62mph in 12.7 seconds.
