The all-new 2012 Volkswagen Beetle is now available to order, priced from £16,490.

From launch, Volkswagen is offering three trim levels; Beetle, Design and Sport, plus two engines including a 1.2-litre TSI 105bhp with seven-speed DSG transmission and a 1.4-litre TSI 160bhp unit with a six-speed manual.

The entry-level 1.2 model is available in standard Beetle or Design trim, whilst the 1.4 comes in either Design or Sport trim.

Smaller-engined 1.2 DSG models are capable of 47.9mpg and produce 137g/km of C02 - resulting in annual Road Tax bills of £115.

All models come with air conditioning, central locking and DAB radio with CD player.

Design models receive 17-inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth, front fog lights, multi-function leather steering wheel and body-coloured door and dashboard panels.

Top-spec Sport models add 18-inch wheels, tinted glass, cruise control, sports seats, parking sensors, gloss black door mirrors and electric climate control.

VW also offer a wide range of optional extras, highlights include keyless entry, sat-nav, a panaromaic sunroof and upgraded headlights.
