Volkswagen has announced that order books for the luxury Phaeton saloon car are open.
Priced from £46,195, the Mercedes S-Class rival remains a left field choice for limousine drivers.
Two-versions of the new machine will be available. Entry-level cars will be powered by a 238bhp 3.0-litre diesel V6, while flagship models will offer a 6.0-litre 444bhp petrol W12.
Models will be available in long and short wheel-base trim, while luxuries include a satellite navigation system that uses Google maps to display journey times and directions.
The top specification model costs £78,685.
