The Laguna 3 was greatly underestimated when it came out in the UK, because of shortcomings with the earlier Laguna 2. It's roomy (though can be a bit 'tight' for rear seat occupants if the driver is tall), the boot is good, though some space is lost to a spare wheel (rightly, in my view), and, unusually, it actually fits inside a standard British 16-foot garage. The ride is firm - more so than earlier Lagunas - and the 1.5 dCi engine is a peach. Specially tuned to behave a bit more like a petrol engine than most diesels, it's fairly smooth, very economical, and purrs along in 6th gear on the motorway. Probably the most relaxing drive I've had. I think this is a super car - the rear parking sensor makes reversing into a space very easy. The only fault it's had in 54k miles was a driver's door handle - electronics went wrong - solved by a new handle. Otherwise, faultless.

Though I have never broken down, I have had problems with punctured tyres, broken heatshield and electrical problems within the car, preventing me from opening driver window down etc

Had the car for over 3 years starts first time, car left for 1 month still starts first time, no problems with mechanics or electrical, one of the best cars I have owned

I have been impressed with the overall package, the quality in particular is better that i expected. It is my daily workhorse (i have a 993 too) and it is a great motorway cruiser.

Relaible and comfortable. Performed very well in icy and snow conditions. Boot space not quite as big as you think - slanted rear window takes away from high storage space. Overall though am very happy with the car.

Cheap and relaitvely reliable but has typicaly renault tendancies to have issues that come and go when they please. Electrics are still a bit of an issue and fuel economy could be better - otherwise very good value for what you get.

Reliability not the best (although apart from gearbox problem no other major problems). Comfort and practicality good. Fuel economy average. I do enjoy driving the laguna.

A well designed family car with all the extras that you would expect from renault. Comfortable and well planned interior and stylish from the outside. Fuel consumption even after four years virtually as new. A car i still feel very happy to drive and be seen in.

It pulls well...it handles like a dream... is rather frugal for a car of its size and is very comfortable...normally i get bored of cars after 2-3 months but its nearly a year old in my service (its done 105k miles so far) but it still feels amazing to drive and keeps me interested

Absolutely love my 150bhp laguna sports tourer. Fantastic drive, great for work, great for shopping, great for weekends away and our greyhound fits in the boot nicely! I would definitely buy another in that price range.

Stunning look. Good value for money. Tires are expensive 225/45 r17 Extremely comfortable and practical Normal tear and wear after 9 years old (ie. shock absorbers, electrical window) Front suspension assembly very fragile. maybe too heavy at front? Currently have clicking cv joints, on previous mots i have always paid to rectify some rubbers due to wear and play. I have had two broken coil springs too in the past 4 years in the front. I still like the car but running costs are getting expensive.

I'm the second owner, the first being my father. The car has nearly done 165000 miles, now has some rust issues and central locking faults, but still runs well and is quite economical. I can't afford to change the car so i'll run it as long as can

Has been a good and mostly very reliable car. the state of the kent roads (shocking) did for the car suspension more than once - same with most other car makes (even land rovers). Have missed the standard faults that have been reported as affecting the laguna 2. Have just changed my car to a 10 plate megane sports tourer diesel, but too early to feed back.

The car is excellent, It gives me excellent economy, and a very comfortable ride. It is light on tyres (43+k) from the rears, and still original brake pads. Performance on the motorway is excellent, it corners with ease and presision.
