This is my company car - My previous car was private and was a BMW 320d estate so this has a lot to live up to. As I have a small family I upgraded the extras and got DVDs, touch screen nav and detachable tow bar. DVDs arrived without remotes and headphones, tow bar instructions can only be described as "useless". the car itself is lovely it has nice leather seats etc, but seems to mark very easily. Interior carpets are like Velcro to everything. The keyless entry thing annoys me to death as the key is something you have to find a place for if I'm not carrying my bag. It rattles in the door pockets and takes up space in the centre console. I've only done 500 miles but I'm not getting anywhere near the 56mpg promised. More like 44 at a push. Car looks lovely and drives great. you do get a lot more car for your money unlike the BMW but I do feel I have compromised on quality. However I am stuck with it for the next 3 years, but I'm not sure how much of it will be left after the kids and the dog!

I suppose that if one were used to a three-wheeled Reliant Robin, then this would indeed look good. Unfortunately, we have come massively down market from a top Granada, and after 25 years, we had to buy a new car. It is a horrid little car. It looks like something one might find floating down a river, and it is the same colour as something one might find floating down a river. It is so hard and harsh, that it is the same as all the other new cars we test drove. Gone is all attempts at comfort and use. The salesman must have gone mad with a felt tip pen dotting the windscreen to try and mask the fault that the sun visors are far too small. Black cardboard stuck to the windscreen sorted that. Custom made cushions helped to overcome the awful ride, slightly. The computer-controlled windows are a just joke, that one just has to put-up with, long gone are the chain drive reliable Granada ones. The old 100w headlamps have been replaced with candles; progress. The windscreen washer bottle has been done away with as unnecessary and replaced with a tiny visible quarter pint tube. A visible gallon container on the old real car! The rear vision mirror has been slightly obscured by a sun glassed pod hanging down from the roof, which can not be removed. The curved wing mirrors give a distorted view. The bonnet release has been hidden down in the passenger footwell, requiring some climbing over the gear stick to reach it, daily. (See tiny wash quantity.) Two digital clocks side by side are a joke, played upon any buyer, but now covered over. A real clock glued to the dash instead. The poor steering lock, is the same as most modern cars, so sharp corners require two attempts to get round. On the plus side. It has much better brakes than the old car, with disc brakes all round, and the key folds closed so as to protect the pocket. Better MPG, but a smaller 2L engine. With 40 miles a day at motorway speeds, the soundproofing, lacking from our lovely old car, is pleasantly surprising. The Cambridge went to India, the Beetle to Mexico, the Granada was too good to pass on. Hobson's Choice.

had a problem with the turbo it went back to fords under warranty they had the car wor 5 weeks for the first 2 weeks i had no curticey car the car was 2 year old and done 14ooo miles not good by fords

I bought this Mondeo brand new & kept it for five years without any problems whatsoever. It was not expense to run & returned 55 mpg on motorway long journeys. I was not able to replace the car with another new Mondeo due to a stop in production awaiting the 2015 model replacement therefore I went for a new Ford Kuga which uses the same but improved engine. I was also very happy that the trade in value exceeded my expectations due to have a full service history & A1 condition.

Never had a Ford before so reasonably pleasantly surprised. This is a company car. Ride and handling qualities superb. Fuel economy, driving reasonably long journeys most of the time (12k miles in 4 months) disappointing at 44mpg consistently and miles off the 57mpg in the hand book. Layout of the interior is good but the quality of the fabric upholstery is appallingly bad. Lots of static and dust all the time. Just not good enough. The quality of the hard door card plastics and trim areas in the boot is also very poor and objects rattle about in the door pockets. Ford, like most other (estate) car builders, insist on making the rear seats as a 2 + 1 instead of 3 meaning that for an average family using car seats and boosters fitting them with the seat belts is an absolute PITA. Better in the Mondeo than many others because it is very roomy but it is still hopeless. When will car makers realise that rear seats are predominantly the preserve of families with children and not 2 adults. This is where the XC90 and Toyota Land Cruiser excel. Again boot carpet is too much like Velcro and with anything other than dust, dirt clings to the carpet and side lining and is really difficult to vacuum clean. I saw a comment somewhere that the interior of the Mondeo is approaching 3 Series BMW standards, I have owned many BMWs and whilst the quality of them is nowhere like it used to be, the Mondeo is nowhere near that quality. Miles better than it used to be, yes, but still a long way off BMW. I'm looking forward to seeing how my car interior looks at the end of it's 3 year lease after my 3 children being lugged about. It'll not withstand that wear and tear I'm sure. Sound system and voice activation is pretty good and the Bluetooth system etc work well. The Sony DAB unit is good. The Titanium model should have parking sensors as standard, a major omission for such a big car where rear visibility is not that good. I've never reversed into anything in 20 years of driving but managed to bump the rear N/S of this Mondeo already. The blind-spot mirrors should be improved as the viewing area is too small. When looking over your right shoulder, prior to a lane change on a motorway, for example, the B pillar SERIOUSLY obstructs your view and the mirror does not compensate. Until I got accustomed to this I nearly side swiped several drivers hidden within the the invisible B pillar area. Front tyres replaced at 8.6k miles which is nothing short of atrocious. New tyres are 2mm gone in 3.5k miles which means they'll be just about done at 12k miles which is still rubbish. Maybe I'm too accustomed to getting 40k miles from 4WD cars! Would I recommend a Mondeo: yes but with a leather interior and with sensors on rear. All that said, no problems to report to date and mileage at 12.6k since early March. Would I buy one for myself? No. I'd use the money and get a second hand 3 Series or or 5 Series instead. More economical, nicer engines, better emissions etc and generally better quality overall.

This is my 4th Mondeo estate, others being 2.0, this one the 1.6. Every car has had the same problem, drumming road noise from the rear tyres when part worn. The 1.6 is loudest of them all. Tried different makes of tyres, all ok only when new the noise just gets louder. Ford say it's a weight issue and then bury their heads in the sand. Having getting nowhere with Ford, I had the car weighed with my tools loaded, 1720kg. This I believe to be well within the weight limit. Just had Ford check the wheel alignment of all four wheels and yes it failed on the rear camber. This is what's making the tyres go out of line and making the loud road noise. Ford have yet still to get back to me with a remedy, heads still in the sand. Would I buy an other? No. The estate has lots of space but you can't use it.

Ford mondeo diesel estate, All i want from a car is reliability and FORD have too many poor design faults. I had the car for just 3 months when it needed a new DMF / Clutch design fault. Now diesel leaking from leak off pipes another poor design Ford rubbish plastic pipes and o rings that perish which is highly DANGEROUS potential fire risk and risk for motorcyclist. First time i have owned a Ford for 20 years and will never own another Ford again. Last two previous cars i kept for 10 yrs each Volvo & Land Rover this Ford would not last for 5 years. I would sell at a loss today for £4500, Hate Ford unreliable rubbish cars with poor dangerous design faults.

This will be the latest Mondeo I have owned and the worst I have owned every previous model and although this is the very best to drive it is the worst on replacing parts. New exhaust, New Intercooler, New Bonnet Cable New Power steering pump , New clutch All under three years old. If you want a hard working car DO NOT BUY a Mondeo
