the only problems I have had with it are the rear nearside antlock brake sensor faied. About 3 months later the offside rear ABS sensor failed. Other than this have hod little trouble

A small engined vehicle with the performance capability of a very much large engine (1.4-litre 170ps engine, tsi) You get basic 1.4-litre fuel consumption with the performance capability of a much larger engine as and when required.

Jetta cannot be faulted on build quality and reliability. This is a model often over looked in the uk due to what i feel is an unfounded belief that saloons aren't as practical as hatchbacks. Jetta boot is far bigger and more useable than ford focus hatch it replaced 99% of time. This however brings about the jetta's trump card as it offers huge value for money compared to it's golf stablemate.

Good reliable car with enough power to tow my caravan. Good gearbox and steering,and comfortable on long runs. Some squeaks and rattles starting to appear now it is approaching 3 years old, but still enjoyable to drive.

My jetta sports has the 1.4 tsi 170ps engine - it provides a combination of economy and remarkable performance that is outstanding. Fuel economy is basically midway between a standard petrol engine and a diesel alternative, yet without a heavy diesel engine upfront dulling the steering and handling.

Overall very pleased only problems were with the car when i bought it and fixed as part of the deal ,reverse parking is difficult and sensors should be standard

Very reliable goes very well since remap also much easier on the fuel. Comfortable, great boot and great on tyre wear.

I was originally on the look-out for a mkv golf, but found that for the money i was willing to spend i was able to get a better specced jetta for less. I have not regretted choosing the jetta over the golf one bit. It definitely seems to be a hidden gem within the vw line-up, and gets overshadowed by it's golf and passat siblings. I am more than happy with the performance of the 2.0tdi 140ps engine. Mine is one of the last pd engines before the cr engines replaced them. It pulls well from quite a large rev range. I average about 40 to the gallon but i didn't but the diesel for the economy. I bought it because the 2.0tfsi is very rare and i wasn't willing to travel the country for one. Build quality has been spot on. Minor niggles have been the rear off-side window catching a wire harness on the way down causing it to stick. The only thing putting me off buying another mkv when i come to replace my current one will be the mkvi possibly making it look dated and driving prices of the mkv down when i come to sell. Maybe the mkvi will be at the top of my list of replacements!

It is one of the best car in its range among the rest but not in the mercs nor bmw nor audi level. I am very satisfied with this car.

Very satisfied with the car and vw service both when purchased and franchise servicng garage. Slight niggle with auto transmission (dsg), slight problem with design of brake pedal height (not show stoppers by any means. Comfortable and over 50 mpg is great for me (improves by nearly 40% on old car consumption).!
