I downsized from a Mercedes and was concerned that I might not enjoy the car as much. I've been proved wrong. It's lively and safe to drive and the automatic gearbox produces 48mpg on a mixture of short and long trips. I don't miss all the gadgets. I'm retired and getting into and out of the car is not a problem, rather than having to struggle in and out with a lot of these other types. My grandchildren appreciate the deeper windows at the back as they can easily see out when they are in their child seats. I took out a service plan and the local Skoda garage are very good at maintaining it. I bought the car as an ex-demo, a year old, with 2,000 miles on the clock. Can't see this model being bought by 'upwardly-mobile' oiks from the home counties but, having done all that with Mercedes, BMW's and Westfields, it's nice to have something that doesn't cost the earth.

It already needs a new gearbox, but I haven't had it done because it would be over Ł4000. For a car which is only 4 years old, I think this is disgraceful.

This car is absolutely amazing and I've had it since December 2019. According to a lot of others who look at our car it's ugly and looks like a hearse, but I personally love it. We have the 1.4-litre petrol engine and it gets us good fuel economy (37mpg city, 45mpg highway, 41mpg combined) and I absolutely love the removable seats, our car can carry huge sofas easily. Will camp in it soon because it's too warm to sleep indoors. The only problems we've had with the car are a few electrical issues, such as with the windows. Overall, an amazing car.

To start off i use my roomster as a taxi / private hire . I bought it with 16,000 miles it now has 64,000 in just over one years oenership .. and i can honestly say its been amaizing. No issues what so ever bar the usual servicing and tires. As you can imagine ad it is used as a taxi as well as my personal car . Theres alot of people is and out and it has held together great. Nothing has broke snapped ripped etc. All the customers love it due to the very roomy interior.

Tell us what you think about your car?
We bought our 2009 Skoda Roomster in December 2019 and it's done us proud! I love the Varioflex seating system – we've used it in all sorts of ways: Removing the middle seat to fit extra luggage into the car, removing all the rear seats to transport large items (like a mini van) and folding down the middle seat to use as a cupholder. The large rear windows make it lovely for passengers in the back because they can see out very easily. The sound system isn't the best, but still good. What really impresses us is that, despite its tall stature, the Roomster handles very well. It has a good turning circle, next to no body roll, and the steering is very responsive. MPG is impressive, too. We achieved 46.7mpg on the motorway, which is good for a naturally-aspirated petrol. Our Roomster is only a 1.4-litre with just 85bhp and 126Nm of torque, but even with the whole family plus luggage, it can drive no problem – even uphill. It's the SE trim, with a grey and black interior and a panoramic sunroof, making her feel very light and airy inside. The seats are comfortable and, unlike some other cars, really can seat five in comfort. The middle seat can fit an adult provided there are no bulky booster seats on one or both of the outer seats. We weren't expecting to ever buy a European car after our positive experiences with Toyota, Mazda, and Honda but, having owned the Roomster for four years, we do not regret our decision one bit. It passed this year's MOT with just 2 advisories. Overall, I think the Roomster is an amazing family car, perfect for anyone who doesn't need to carry more than five people.
What's the one thing you like most about your car?
The flexibility of the Varioflex seats.
If you could improve one thing, what would it be?
The comfort of the rear seats, they aren't very comfortable for long journeys.

Great car - loads of room and versatile space, very good to drive and park, good body design with panoramic roof. l can see this model being a collector's car as it is no longer produced? This one of Volkswagen engines that has to be adjusted but Skoda have been in touch with us all the way. Good shoppers car as it is small on the outside so easy to park, but massive on space and back seats can come out so easily, even with seats in there is loads of space. My wife likes high space for garden plants and gardening stuff.

We recently purchased the Roomster and in noway is this a long term review. My wife bought this car and uses it it go to work but our main reason for buying it is we wanted a vehicle unlike the Micra we have is to be able to carry our 2 medium sized dogs without having to put down the rear seats. It drives well and by golly you have to watch your speed on the Motorway otherwise you are doing 90mph and not realising it. The seating position is higher than the standard saloon or hatchback and gives the driver good vision all round. The doors are wide giving good access for any one who has a disability or elderly. The ride is firm but comfortable and takes our potholed roads with aplomb. MPG is great I have just gone down to the Dorset and back covering 470 miles there and back and the fuel averaged out to 47mpg. The build quality is very good and the underpining and engine is VW so in reality you getting VW quality but at a less price..

Great car, easy to drive, kids love it. Lots of space for a small mpv. Good cheapish motoring. 4th skoda we have owned & will have another.

Very good car with lots of space and if you take out the rear seats you have got massive amount of space. It's a very nice car to drive and with both front seats adjustable it's ideal for my wife to drive as she's only 4ft 9 .

This is my third skoda. Utterly reliable. Well built. Very practical now we have a grandchild to transport here, there and everywhere. Everything fits in the back of the car with room to spare. The unusual styling turns heads and many questions have been asked by fellow motorists.
