Very well made, always starts straight away, quite firm suspension but is comfortable, always get at least 50mpg (more on longer journeys). Interior is a bit bland compared to some but to me it's fine. Only had to replace items such as tyres/front discs/anti roll bar bushes. Serviced every year. Minor neg is the blind spot with the windscreen pillars but thats all.

Great car with good passenger room although boot space is rather small. Petrol engine is economical although does not feel as though it has 120bhp as it needs to be pushed on motorway journeys (especially with a roof box fitted). Coped very well with snow in the alps (where a lot of locals drive these) although snow chains were not used. Great car for the price although the Suzuki S-Cross looks expensive in comparison even though it uses the same engine/ transmission. Front tyre wear slightly higher than normal (usually every 18 months/ 15000 miles) although putting 4wd into auto has stopped the wife spinning the front tyres by getting the rears to push instead so this should improve.

Purchased the car 22nd december to day very happy with it . Bought this vehicle because i wanted a small 4+4 or suv dud to the location where i live.

Broken circlip in gearbox resulting in difficulty changing down to 1st and 2nd even when stationary Particulate filter and regeneration issues leading to car going into limp home mode (5 times in 1 year) Remap from suzuki resulting in poor fuel consumption (15% worse) - ongoing

A somewhat underated car, which has performed far better than i expected, other than slight rattles and buid quality issues, the mechanicals have been faultless and the car has loads of space and rides very well. All in all a very pleasant car to spend time in.

Typical suzuki in that the car feels like new after 4 years on the road. Awd traction is great when pulling out of slippery junctions, and the car has proven quite capable off road. Cheap to run, practical and well made; what else can you ask for in a £6000 car!

An excellent practical all-rounder, comfortable and well-equipped

What's the one thing you like most about your car?

Despite the high ride height the SX4 doesn't feel soft or wallowy, the steering is heavy but direct and has plenty of feel. Visibility is mostly very good. The 1.6 petrol 2WD model is capable of averaging 45mpg on longer journeys. Very practical too overall

If you could improve one thing, what would it be?

The thick A-pillars, despite the useful quarterlights, do create a very noticeable blind spot- you really do have to move your head around. In addition, the boot, while a useful shape, is hardly bigger than you'd find in a supermini and the seats do not fold flat

At first 12 month service and 9000 miles found problem with rear tyre wear, both tyres, LHR worse. Had 4 wheel laser alignment check done which showed both rear wheels out of spec for "toe in", hence the rear tyres are more heavily worn than the front tyres. Nearly time to change the LHR tyre. Both main dealer and Suzuki technical claim there is no problem and I should rotate all wheels on the car every 6000 miles. This may give some users problems especially if they have no spare wheel only a puncture repair kit. My question is why are the rear tyres wearing so fast if there is no problem - never before experienced this in 50 years of driving front wheel drive cars. Checking website forums have found that Suzuki has had rear wheel alignment problems on several models for years, hence the need to rotate wheels to cover up the problem.

Not as good as my previous Ignis. Worst point is the dreadful A post blind spot. Both front springs broke - common fault. Driver's seat creaks - another common fault, as is the rear catalyst sensor that packed up at 55,000 miles and the ridiculously fragile front fog lights. The wireless ignition switch plays up when a satnav or phone charger is plugged into the cigarette lighter. Aircon compressor leaked. Very poor radio reception. Transmission (transfer box?) whines. Fairly well built and otherwise reliable but usual Suzuki small boot. Probably good value secondhand if you want a smallish practical 4x4.

cheap and cheerful...great new price..same as 3 year old quashquai! So far reliable . good driving position. Lacks pull away power for a modern 1.6l engine...once up and running enjoyable and relaxed. Surprisingly good on motorways. Lack of boot space is a bind...even with awkward rear seat manouverability. Looks good in an understated way.excellent ground clearance for our steep drive.

My car has lived up to my expectations in every way.I Believe it is reasonably priced, the spec is of decent quality and the handling is excellent too. I would opt for suzuki every time for its reliability,good handling and performance and running costs are very reasonable.

I ran a Ford Focus for 10 years, I saw this SX4 for sale and fancied it. Knowing nothing about them I looked at the "expert's" reviews, not good but I went ahead and bought it, I absolutely love it. So does my wife, I would not hesitate to buy a later model.

Not the best example of a cross over vehicle, practical for getting in and out of with disability but that's about it, very sparce in comfort, and also a little bit on the thirsty side
