It's a beautiful car that's comfortable and good value for money. Look past the negative reviews, it is a complete joke to compare the Camry to Vauxhall Insignia or VW Passat. This car is highly recommended and I always look forward to driving it.

I've just bought a new Camry from our local dealers. Having driven it for only a few days it is quite obvious that this is a brilliant car at a bargain price -don't believe the motoring hacks as this is a five star car in every way. To compare this with a VW Passat or Vauxhall Insignia is a joke. The appearance, finish and comfort levels are way beyond this - this is why the car sells for much more money in mainland Europe and Ireland. The performance is very brisk -far quicker than the figures suggest and it handles neatly with decent steering . However it's the smooth ride that really impresses. In case you're wondering, I've driven a lot of cars at various levels but this is really quite something for £29K -the same price as the top of the range Corolla say or Golf. Yes, and on top of all this it's a hybrid producing less than 100 g/km of CO2 and low NOx. I'm only getting high forties mpg but the car is still very tight so I am hoping this will improve.
Drive one- you'll be surprised .

Now I have had the Camry for one year I can honestly say that it is the best car I've ever owned. The engine is super quiet under normal conditions though does sound throaty when a lot is being asked of it, which I don't mind! The economy is brilliant for a car of this size and though I stated 51 mpg on average, that is a conservative estimate, often on a trip of about ten miles and not one that takes me up and down steep hills the Camry will give me 60mpg. So, the engineering is excellent and in Sport Mode, the car becomes another beast; the steering stiffens up as does the suspension and the extra power is palpable. Maybe not a Supra but quick enough! The interior is super comfortable, both front seats are fully electronically controlled and leather clad. There is ample leg room in the back with air con to the rear too. I think that the Camry looks very beautiful too - a world away from the dull as ditch water looks of the Avensis which it replaces. The car drives and rides better than the Passat I had and the Superb that followed it.
