I have owned my Trax since November and I can only say that it has been excellent value for money. It is a very comfortable car, even on long drives. Overall it is showing an average of 52mpg since new, in a mixture of Urban and rural driving. As regards the 'noisy' diesel engine, I don't feel that it is any noisier than an equivalent vehicle eg Qashqai.

I've owned the 1.7-litre turbodiesel version for 2 years and don't recognise it from the reviews I'm reading. Engine and wind noise are minimal with the windows up. Handling is unremarkable but more than adequate. Comfort is good. Running costs are low... if you want to be frugal, you can get 61.8mpg if you sit at 50mph in 6th gear. Have a bit more fun and you'll still get 58 mpg. Tyre wear is fantastic, the rear tyres look like new after 50,000 miles and I got 38,000 out of the front tyres. The engine can be sluggish at low revs, but acceleration is good above 2,000 rpm.
