"The Kia Carens is emblematic of the great leap forward Kia has made recently: it’s well built, well equipped, cheap to run and better-looking than many other MPVs"

Cracking car and very comfortable. Loaded with extras which is great considering I drive more than 30k miles a year. I love the panoramic roof in summer and the heated seats and steering wheel in winter. The only downside is the fuel consumption. The tech spec suggests combined of 63 ish but I am lucky if I get 40 on a motorway at sensible speed.

Petrol engine is quiet and quite economical in the real world. SR7 model is well equipped. This car is well built and free of any rattles/squeaks after one year (7000 miles all short trips apart from one trip to SW France). No problems at all in first year. Carries five adults for trips with no complaints. With rear seats six/seven left down, car has large boot which carries fold up electric scooter and shopping. First service completed under Kia Service plan with no issues. Recently changed tyres at 6700 miles to Michelin Cross Climate and car transformed with much less road noise and a more 'planted to road' feel. Overall, delighted with this car.

Our Kia Carens 1.7 diesel 3 spec (used to be the range topper before 4 spec introduced) is a great family car. It is now just over 2 years old and has covered almost 19,000 miles without a single problem. It covers mostly shorter journeys (under 10 miles) but has also done plenty of longer jouneys of 150 to 400+ miles. At the moment we're getting just over 46mpg – without having to drive like Miss Daisy which I think is pretty good for a seven seater. It's very comfortable to drive, relaxing on longer motorway journeys, spacious and airy (especially with panoramic sunroof). Has lots of great and useful kit including voice control, heated seats/steering wheel, music streaming etc. Car pulls well and has plenty of power when fully loaded with five passengers and heaps of camping equipment (including roofbox). We've had smaller adults and some children in the rearmost seats and none have complained about lack of room, although the aircon doesn't really reach to the rear. A well made/very usable car which looks good for an MPV and drives very easily. If you have issues with the Kia badge, don't. This is more premium than you think, and more family friendly than just about any German medium sized car I've been in.
