Mechanically the car is excellent, the engine loosened up at around 5k and has been a strong and reliable unit. No issues with morning starts or long journeys. I mark it at 5 now but time will tell.

Have found the car extremely reliable. Its a 4 rather than 5 though as had to be recalled twice for some mandatory things to be corrected. Initially within the first year, there was a recall linked to the fuel injectors, and the most recent wasn't well explained as to why the recall was necessary but 'essential' work at Mercedes' own cost needed to be completed

Stylish and surprising cheap to run. Mercedes quality and status at mondeo prices (or less!). Tremendous 'feel good' factor and sense of security and relaxation when driving. Quirks include unusual (nowadays) rear wheel drive and the handbrake more suited to an automatic. Well over 40mpg most of the time and servicing not expensive. Very happy to own and pass on to my son in law next year!

I have had te car for a little over two years and my mileage totals 33000 miles during that time my car has never faultered in any way, so for me it's 10/10 for reliability.

Its very economic, the performance is relevant to the economy, it is reliable and the only thing i have had to replace are tyres which is to be expected. I would recommend it to anyone thinking of buying a small sports hatchback.

Good quality car which meets expectations regarding performance. Automatic gearbox is ok without being brilliant. Service/parts costs are high, but insurance, tax and fuel are ok. Being a mercedes it looks good, and has a smart cabin. Pleasure to drive.

2 bits of front mesh trim have fallen off £170.00 to replace.. Seat belts do not go back up so break plastic door pannels have Replaced 4 up to now.

Good to drive however luggage space is a bit small. Snow & icy weather are not good news to owners of rear wheel drive cars. Perhaps mb should consider offering 4 wheel drive saloon and estate cars in the uk if we continue to have such harsh winters.

Have had two major items fail, brake fluid pump and wiper motor. I( also have a 1997 S class with 400k on the clock and that has had nietherrt part replaced. Disappointing

The car has never let me down. I was asked to put it in for injectors replacement as part of a recall, but the car had not let me down and I would not have known unless the dealer informed me about it.

Superb car. Has been very reliable all it's life, no problems at all until the last month when front suspension problems needed rectifying - bush mountings. Also mid exhaust needed replacing.
