Have been in the motor trade since 1974, spent 23 years setting up Car Rental Offices in the Middle East and East Africa for Avis, Europcar and Budget, drove much bigger cars like the Ford Mustang 5.0 litre Automatic (I had 3 of them as well as a Rolls or two) In East Africa roads a Land Rover was my first choice. Back Home in Europe my first choice is a MINI Cooper. I've had five since 1968 when I bought an 850 Morris for £615. I paid a great deal more today but drive one and see why they sell well .

Tell us what you think about your car?

An expensive car from new, especially if you add in many of the extras. I bought a ten-month-old JCW with £8k of extras and saved £11k on the original price. It's been ultra-reliable and exciting to drive. White/silver with a red roof looks awesome and gets many compliments. I get surprisingly cheap insurance and road tax and can wash it in no time, also it's easy to park but be careful not to kerb those alloys. Is it fast? Yes.

What's the one thing you like most about your car?

The excitement it gives when pushing it hard down country lanes and showing the twin-pipe exhaust to others drivers who think it's just another Mini

If you could improve one thing, what would it be?

I would like more horses to compete with the other German hot hatches
