Skoda Roomster deals: Car deal of the week
You can now get a massive £4,010 off the price of the Skoda Roomster SE MPV
Skoda’s flexible MPV – the Skoda Roomster – can now be had with £4,010 knocked off the mid-range 85bhp SE model, meaning the car now costs just £9,990.
Despite the low price, the Skoda comes loaded with kit including 15-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning and rear parking sensors. The car is only available in silver, however.
While the Roomster’s looks might not be to everyone’s tastes – and the model is getting quite old now – it is still supremely practical. That means it has 450 litres of boot space (compared to the 380 litres you get in a Volkswagen Golf) and has 60:40 split rear seats that, when folded down, reveal a massive 1,780-litre capacity. The rear seats can also be completely removed, while the outside seats on the rear bench can slide back and forth, as well as being able to recline. The Roomster also gets two glove compartments, wide door pockets, and under-seat storage.
The 85bhp model returns 50mpg and emissions of 134g/km, for road tax of £125, so it should also be cheap to run. And, while 12.6 seconds for 0-60mph isn’t quick, the Skoda is more than capable of keeping up with everyday traffic.
Meanwhile, the Roomster has a comfortable ride, with supportive seats all round and lots of head and legroom, plus there's little wind or road noise. The 85bhp petrol should be quieter than the diesel engines in the range, too. It’s also worth bearing in mind that Skoda finished an excellent second place in our 2013 Driver Power customer satisfaction survey, with only the more expensive Lexus marque bettering the Czech brand.
