Porsche 911 GTS revealed

A sportier version of the standard 911 has been revealed, in coupe and cabriolet bodystyles

The final piece of the Porsche 911 puzzle has been revealed today, in the form of the GTS coupe and cabriolet. They’ll cost from £91,098 when they go on sale towards the end of this year.

The Porsche 911 GTS joins the standard Carrera, powerful Turbo and lightweight GT3 models in the range. It’s available in both coupe and convertible body styles, with two or four-wheel drive.

Powered by a tuned version of the six-cylinder engine from the Carrera S, the more powerful GTS produces 430bhp and will go from 0-62mph in just 4.0 seconds. The convertible version is very slightly slower, doing the same sprint in 4.2 seconds. Top speed is said to be more than 186mph.

All GTS models boast a wider body for improved grip, as well as flared wheel arches and 20-inch matt-black alloy wheels. Enthusiasts will notice the lowered suspension, xenon headlamps, GTS badging and black chrome-plated exhausts, too.

Inside, there’s exclusive Alcantara suede fabric trim and leather sports seats. Sat nav is standard, too.

All GTS models have Porsche’s Sport Chrono package as standard. This includes Porsche’s active suspension management system, which allows owners to alter the car’s settings for a sportier drive.

Prices start at £91,098 for the basic rear-wheel-drive GTS coupe, with the cabriolet costing £8,500 more. Specifying four-wheel drive bumps the price up by just shy of £5,000, with the top-spec Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS Cabriolet costing £104,385.

You can order your 911 GTS now, with first deliveries expected before the end of 2014.
