New Mercedes GLA prices revealed
New Mercedes GLA available to order now; first deliveries in April
The revised Mercedes GLA SUV will cost from £25,880 and will launch with a pair of new special editions. The 2017 GLA was shown at the Detroit Motor Show earlier this week.
Most buyers will pick one of the diesel models. They’re both powered by the same 2.1-litre diesel engine and both feature four-wheel drive. The GLA 200d 4MATIC produces 136bhp and can return 67.3mpg and CO2 emissions of 108g/km. The 177bhp GLA 220d 4MATIC version produces 177bhp.
Buyers seeking petrol power can choose from the GLA 200, the four-wheel-drive GLA 240 4MATIC and the high-performance Mercedes-AMG GLA 45. Power ranges from 156 to 381bhp. Fuel economy and CO2 emissions start at 50.4mpg and 131g/km for the GLA 200 – the most frugal petrol model in the range.
As before, three trims will be offered: SE, Sport and AMG Line. All models will feature push-button start, Apple CarPlay integration and a reversing camera. SE models also have off-road comfort suspension, which is softer than the setup on other trims.
Buyers can choose the £1,695 Premium package, which includes Garmin sat nav and LED headlights with automatic high beam. Also available is the £2,995 Premium Plus package, which adds a panoramic sunroof
Two special editions bolster the range from launch. The £31,260 GLA 200 WhiteArt Edition is based on AMG Line trim with the Premium package, but features 19-inch alloy wheels, black leather upholstery and black floor mats.
The £53,135 Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 4MATIC Yellow Night Edition includes an AMG bodykit and 20-inch alloy wheels with yellow detailing, a leather AMG steering wheel and faux ‘Artico’ leather trim.
Exterior changes to the Mercedes GLA are subtle: new bumpers, radiator grille and alloy wheel designs, plus the option of new LED headlights.
Inside, the GLA gets new dials on the dashboard gauge cluster, new upholstery options and some extra equipment – although again, some of this kit (like the 360-degree bird’s-eye camera and powered boot release) will be optional.
