New facelifted Porsche Macan Turbo powers in with 435bhp
The 2019 Porsche Macan Turbo gets a light makeover and a new twin-turbo V6 petrol engine
The facelifted 2019 Porsche Macan Turbo has been revealed. The range-topping variant gets a new smaller twin-turbo V6 engine, a revised chassis and design tweaks inside and out. It’s available to order now, with prices starting from £68,530.
The new Porsche Macan Turbo gets minor design updates first seen on lesser Macan models last year, including a redesigned front bumper, new LED headlights and a full-width light bar at the rear of the car. As the flagship model, the Turbo also gets a quad-pipe sports exhaust system and a twin rear spoiler.
Porsche has also updated the inside with the addition of a 10.9-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, an upgraded BOSE surround sound stereo system, a Wi-Fi hotspot and unique ‘Turbo’ badging on the rev counter and centre armrest.
The most notable update is the engine, with a smaller 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine replacing the 3.6-litre unit in the outgoing model. The new engine produces 435bhp, with power going to all four wheels via a seven-speed PDK automatic gearbox. This gives the Macan Turbo a 0-62mph sprint time of 4.3 seconds, with a top speed of 167mph.
Updates to the chassis include new 20-inch alloy wheels as standard and new carbide coated brake discs, which Porsche claims are more responsive and less susceptible to brake fade. Carbon ceramic brakes, height adjustable air suspension and hydraulic shock absorbers are all available as options.
