Deal of the week: Kia Rio
Save £1,400 on 2-spec supermini Kia Rio.
Kia is offering savings of up to £1,400 on its supermini Rio hatchback, dropping the price of the 2-spec supermini to a tempting £11,095. It includes the brand’s seven-year/100,000-mile warranty, and promises to be cheap to run – especially with Kia also selling a year’s insurance for just £99 for drivers over 21.
While the Kia Rio has a lot to offer to set it apart from other cars in its class and is packed with goodies, it also boasts alloy wheels, black bezel restyled headlights and body-coloured bumpers. The Rio comes fully fitted with RDS radio/CD with MP3 compatibility and a crisp four-speaker sound system and all the latest safety features, including motor-driven power steering, hill start assist control and speed sensing auto door locking.
It’s also one of the cleanest cars available in the UK, coming in second in our Most Economical Cars list to the Hyundai i20 hatchback, with which it shares its 1.1-litre EcoDynamics engine. Of its engine range, the smaller, 74bhp diesel is the one to go for with CO2 emissions of only 85g/km, meaning tax-free motoring. It also delivers a claimed 88mpg, which makes it a compelling rival for the likes of the Ford Fiesta and a prime example of why Kia is one of the most improved car brands of the last few years. They may not be as cheap as they used to be, but they're significantly better than Kia's of old.
