New Mercedes CLA 45 AMG 2013 revealed
The Mercedes CLA 45 AMG has been officially unveiled at the New York Motor Show.
The Mercedes CLA 45 AMG has the same 355bhp 2.0-litre engine as the A45 AMG hot hatchback.
The sleek four-door coupe gets the same four-wheel-drive system as the A45, as well as stiff sports suspension and an aggressive body kit. Inside, there’s plenty of carbon-fibre trim, red seatbelts and a pair of heavily bolstered sports seats.
Thanks to a big dose of power and a relatively lightweight body, the CLA 45 AMG will cover 0-62mph in just 4.6 seconds – faster than an entry-level Porsche 911 Carrera – and carry on to a top speed of 155mph. However, despite the impressive performance stats, the CLA AMG will manage 40.9mpg and emit just 161g/km of CO2.
The flagship CLA goes on sale in the autumn, with an expected price tag of around £40,000, while the standard car is available to order now, with prices starting at £24,355 for the CLA 180 Sport petrol.
