Kia Picanto three-door available in September
For the first time since the city car appeared in 2004, the new Kia Picanto will be available as a three door from 1st September, in time for 61-reg plate buyers.
The new Kia Picanto three-door will go on sale on 1st September this year, priced from £7,795. The latest city car from Kia is the first three-door Picanto the Korean firm has offered- receiving sportier styling, stronger performance and lower fuel consumption.
Four trim variants are offered including the '1' and '1 Air', which adds air conditioning, plus the 'Halo' and range-topping Equinox. Halo models come with alloy wheels, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, rear parking sensors plus an optional automatic gearbox.
Exempt from both road tax and the London Congestion Charge, entry level 1.0-litre 68bhp '1' models produce just 99 g/km of CO2 and are capable of returning 67.3mpg. The 1.25-litre Halo and Equinox versions offer 84bhp and when fitted with EcoDynamics stop/start technology are capable of 65.7mpg.
Exterior changes to the five-door version include unique alloy wheels on higher spec models, new doors and additional side sills. Up front, a larger grille and a re-styled bumper help to make the car appear wider and lower. The rear bumper features a central black section and exposed twin exhaust tailpipes.
All versions feature front, side and curtain airbags plus electronic stability control (ESC), anti-lock brake system (ABS), electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) and emergency brake assist system (BAS).
The new Picanto three-door is sold with Kia's seven year or 100,000 mile warranty.
