New Audi A4 unveiled
Audi provides the first look at the new A4 saloon, Avant estate, Allroad and S4.
The New Audi A4 is set to arrive in the UK in 2012 as a direct competitor to the new BMW 3 Series, which was unveiled last week.
Displaying fresher styling, the new Audi A4's look remains subtle but uses similar LED headlights to the existing Audi A5 and Audi A6 models incorporating a cleaner looking grille and sharper lower air-intakes.
The updates will also extend to other A4 models including the Avant estate, Allroad crossover and range topping S4.
Audi claim that suspension tweaks have resulted in improved ride comfort over previous models, although S models will continue to use a lower and firmer set-up.
Powered by a range of petrol and diesel engines, all models will come with stop/start and brake energy regeneration, helping to reduce fuel consumption by 10 per cent across the range.
The most efficient 2.0-litre TDi diesel unit should be capable of 67.3mpg and emit 112g/km of CO2. Audi's new 201bhp 3.0-litre TDi V6 engine will also be available in the A4 for the first time.
Inside, all new A4s get a revised infotainment system, upmarket inlays on doors and consoles, plus a new flat-bottomed steering wheel.
At the rear, new taillights mimic the headlights whilst the boot capacity is unchanged from before measuring 480 litres. Audi is to yet announce full UK prices and specifications, but expect a small increase over the outgoing model.
