Toyota will unveil the all-new Auris to the public at the Paris Motor Show on 27 September. The British-built Auris will go head-to-head with highly-regarded rivals such as the Ford Focus and Volkswagen Golf when it goes on sale in the UK early next year.
Toyota will confirm UK prices and specifications closer to the Auris’ on-sale date, but the company has confirmed that 1.4-litre diesel plus 1.33 and 1.6-litre petrol engines will be available, while an efficient hybrid version will again be offered.
As well as a new, more aggressive design inside and out, Toyota claims that the new Auris will be better to drive than ever before, thanks to being 55mm lower and 40kg lighter than the car it replaces.
Despite being lighter, Toyota claims that the Auris has more interior space than the outgoing car. Toyota also says that the quality of interior trim has been improved, and will offer the option of ‘Skyview’ – one of the largest panoramic roofs on the market.
