BMW 6 Series coupe (2004-2011): owner reviews

"BMW’s 6 Series is a stylish coupe that offers a sporty drive and impressive comfort. It’s well built – but feels like a big, heavy car next to relatively lighter rivals like the Jaguar XK."

Perfectly executes what it was designed for. Overengineered yet elegant touches. Simple uncluttered controls and dashboard. Effortless power and well matched grip and performance. Stays indoors when it snows !

Sporty but hard ride quality and very thirsty more than the manufactures claimed figures. The electrics of the car namely the computer throws up lots of problems that don't exist, such as engine over heating when the engine is not, and will beep at you continual until you take it in to the dealer. Would not put me off totally a bmw but would not automatically get another one.

Great gt, handling choppy on run-flats. Performance good, economy (unsurprisingly) less so. Effortless mile-muncher with great style and exclusivity.

Replaced a manual 325D but 6 series feels much more like a true coupe, rather than a 2 door saloon. True grand tourer with proper luggage space, compared with the current XK, which has virtually none. Reliable, quiet and with all the power you need, it has been a great companion for 30000 miles at an average nearly 40mpg (and much more on longer trips).Comparisons with the 911 are laughable: that may be a great sports car but it certainly isn't a grand tourer. I'm sure the new model is even more refined but is too big, there are signs of cost cutting in the interior and it still has left hand drive wipers.
