As with running costs, the issue of practicality probably isn't going to be a huge consideration for most F-Type buyers, but the ability to cope with a bit of luggage for occasional fast touring trips abroad is a vital part of any coupe’s repertoire.

The Jaguar F-Type Coupe is a smaller car than its XK predecessor and feels every bit the purposeful sports car when you hunker down in the cosy cockpit. There’s no wasted space at all, but with plenty of adjustment in the seats and the steering wheel, even tall drivers are able to find a natural driving position.

There's a good-sized glovebox and a couple of cup-holders, but the storage space in the doors is fairly useless and rear visibility isn't that great, either. The latter can make certain judgments when joining roads or changing lanes pretty tricky, while parking will be made far easier by the reversing camera, which we’re pleased to see is now fitted as standard.

Boot space

Jaguar says the F-Type Coupe has a boot that offers 407 litres of space, which the company reckons is enough for two sets of golf clubs. Alternatively, you’ve got enough space for luggage for a weekend away or even a weekly food shop. Although the size is reasonable, the shape of the boot doesn't make it especially easy to load up and the large glass screen means you mustn't risk overfilling it.
