I took a lease on the Jeep Cherokee for the standard 42 months at 0% with free services included. I understand the terms I received are no longer offered. I have driven Jeep vehicles for 20+ years and I have enjoyed the experience. Where reviews claim gear change isn’t smooth and the ride is rough and noisy, I believe that is good. I do not buy an SUV to be like a limousine. I want to feel I am in a 4X4. The Limited version comes fully loaded, too, and the heated seats are ventilated so that when the outside temp is 24c or more they provide cooling , and that is for both front seats. I opted for diesel and the fuel consumption is very good. I generally get 400+ miles on a full tank. In three years the only issue I have experienced is flat battery. Not including a spare tyre is a disappointment, although the weight reduction obviously improves the fuel consumption. My biggest bugbear is that the sat bav does not include TMS. I appreciate that many people use Google or Apple maps but I think that it’s a big error by Jeep. Overall I think the Jeep Cherokee is a stylish, solid and reliable 4X4 and I would recommend to anyone looking for a fully kitted out vehicle at the price

The cabin is spacious and very well equipped, very comfortable especially on a long journey! The gear change is very smooth due to the 8 gears – a definite improvement on our old mark III Jeep! The boot is very spacious and able to take a double mattress comfortably! Basically a lot of car for an affordable price!

The best and most reliable car I've had in 45 years of car ownership. I've had no problems in 50,000 miles. Only slight complaint would be the sat nav being a little slow to reconfigure.

Bought a 2016 Summit variant from new after deciding one of the typical German clones in the large SUV class was too common and didn't want the potential unreliability associated with Land Rover. I was instantly taken with the Jeep's handsome looks and road presence and it's go anywhere attitude on it's adjustable air suspension. Read reviews of older versions with electrical problems appearing fairly common; have so far had 9 months with only 1 minor electrical fault (memory seat) which was fixed by the dealer with no hassle at all. Jeep Leicester have been fantastic and historically I change my car frequently, however I'm very happy in the Jeep and plan for the 2017 revised Summit at some point. Carbuyer please update your review with the 2017 revised models.

Awesome! Fantastic value for money performance SUV. A tad thirsty but what do you expect from a 6.4l V8 HEMI? Just wish it had remote start............

Lovely looking car. However, the car had several faults over the short period i owned it, and the main dealer; Hughes Jeep Beaconsfield, couldn't fix a single one. Even when i first picked it up, i found that i was driving it home with an engine warning light on. Final straw was a fuel leak, car got towed to hughes jeep, as expected the car was returned to me with the fuel still leaking and a fresh couple of door dings from their ludicrously small car park. In the end i was just desperate to get rid of it and end my dealings with hughes jeep, I got rid after just 2 years of ownership.

I wish I could find the right words. It is a cracking looking mud plugger. Comfy, reasonably quiet, gets down the road well for a diesel, so what's the deal? I took it back after 4 weeks of ownership, I explained my problem, and simply put I wanted my money back. I am or was a caravaner, I used to have an ML270, and we had an 02 plate Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. That one had the Merc engine. When I hooked up my Elddis Superstorm van, it is 7-metres long, twin axle and weighs in about 1.8 tonnes loaded. The Jeep drives brilliantly forwards! Try reversing where there is a slight slope, kerb edge, ramp, tight lock in any direction, in fact any reversing action at all. This car will not creep, steer full lock and you have to kick the throttle. In fact that's a constant, you have to keep blipping the throttle. You can sit next a kerb edge and if you rise on full lock or try to it's not a safely controlled maneuver. Compared to the other four-wheel drive SUVs this one should not be called an SUV. I found so many things wrong I sincerely felt it was not for me. FCA got involved a year later, there is nothing wrong with transmission, torque band, gearbox or engine they proclaimed so I was not allowed to cancel my car and return it. One year later, FCA wrote after I had spend my money getting opinions that there was nothing they could do. I can't part exchange the car, it sank or lost more than 50% of its value in one year. This has been an expensive £52k error. If you want to tow with your Grand Cherokee of the new breed, test it first. I based all my passion for the marque on my old SUVs, BIG mistake. I certainly would not recommend this model as a tow car, but it is ok as a chelsea tractor. I believe it is a dangerous problem, as those revs rise the transmission snatches and it wants to launch. There is ZERO ultra low rev, low speed torque. The value of my late 17 plate is now, less than £25k trade. I could try selling privately, but as usual you have to pay off the finance first, and FCA finance are not helpful either.

I owned the 2012 version of this for three very happy years. I traded it in for the 2015. At the dealership they failed to tell me that the navigation unit could not receive traffic information and that this was completely inoperative even though it appeared on the navigation menu. The remotes for opening the doors, unlike the 2012 will not pair with the two different settings for the driver's seat, and the automatic air-conditioning does not work. There is also an issue with the automatic headlights - they stay on even in bright sun. Now this all sounds trivial in a way, but I had all of this fictionality on a car 3 years older and paid £50,000 to have it on this one. Jeep says they never told me the navigation would work as setup, that there isn't anything wrong with the air-conditioning, even though the dealership confirmed there was a problem not only on my car, but the others they had there. By the way the navigation didn't work on those either. Jeep says they know that traffic is inoperative, but don't know how to fix it. They are fraudulently selling vehicles to the public. I am currently working with lawyers to determine the best course of action legally. I have owned the car since March and Jeep has done nothing except take my money under false pretences. I would have given the car and Jeep corporate 0, but you have to at least award one star.

Jeep from new (had 1 minor electrical problem sorted at dealer in 1 hour), great to drive (£270 road tax and 28 miles to gallon), great boot space for my 2 dogs and really nice ride. Had a Dodge Nitro for 3 years before this and had no problems with that either and am very impressed with my Jeep. Had first service at dealer (£260), was happy with that, read a few negative reviews but a lot are from older Jeeps - the new model is much better now, had my Jeep for 1 year and 3 months so far, very happy to recommend.

Purchased a 2012 model from a main dealer back in April 2014. Has now returned to various dealers 8 times, 7 of which were on a tow truck. Have owned the vehicle for 9 months and has spent 3 months being repaired. All the problems with the vehicle seem to be electrical (wiring looms, sensors, sat nav failure). The dealership network for Jeep is shocking with nobody able to fix the problems correctly without them returning within a month. This is without doubt the worst vehicle I have ever purchased and I warn anyone to take great care in choosing to purchase a Jeep as their reliability is terrible. A great shame as the car comes with every gadget you could ever need, perhaps thats where its problem lies. Too clever for its own good.

I fell in love with this car and bought it with my heart, rather than my head. I knew it had a few niggles but nothing that couldn't be sorted. I use the vehicle for commuting, light off road and some motorway. I'm not heavy footed but don't get much more than 20mpg return except on motorways. I've had quite a few little niggles with the car; from the gearbox not shifting (that seems to have fixed itself for the time being), white smoke from exhaust when sat in traffic more than 20 mins, (don't know the cause), intermittent starter problems, an oil leak from intake seals to turbo (easy DIY fix £20 new seals). Nothing horrendous, just annoying. On road it is great, can't fault it. Off road make sure you have the right tyres, they make a huge difference. Can get hung up on high ground as vehicle has a few low hanging parts underneath. Towing is great at 3.5 tonne tow capacity.

Fantastic value, dream to cruise on the motorway in, tows large twin axle caravan like it's not even there. Bit heavy on CO2, so expensive BIK for company car drivers. Overall no issues in 2 years and 77k. Only wish the dealers were better. Bristol Street Motors (in Bristol) didn't know what they were doing when trying to sell me the car, but new dealership Simonstone seem better.
