Best car i have ever owned, bar none. The only 5 door convertible in the world that can sail through winter snowdrifts in toasty comfort and take you to a mountaintop or the beach for a summer picnic.

Fantastic off road and quite practical with the hard roof on. Very comfortable on long runs and civilized on the motorway. Service intervals of every 6000 miles are my main bugbear. Tendancy for the back end to slip out under hard acceleration and the soft top takes longer than pitching a tent so not useable unless you guaranteed no rain. Overall, good value for money, very useable and been 100% reliable

An excellent car. The recent snow did not stop us from getting anywhere and it held the road even when there was ice on the road. How people can say the car is slow is beyond me as acceleration is smooth and fast when required. The in-car entertainment is loud and clear with even the cabin noise being over-stated in the car reviews. Off road it's far superior to our previous Land Rover. Road handling is excellent with far less roll and movement. All in all totally lived up to our expectations of a Jeep.

When the time comes I simply don't know what I'm going to replace my Jeep with. I have owned my Wrangler for 4 years now and I adore it. There has been one problem with water leaking in and filling the driver's footwell but I simply replaced the carpets with rubber matting and pulled the drain plugs. Obviously the vehicle is dear to run with high road tax and fuel costs but the pleasure I get from driving my Jeep far outweigh the negatives. I own the 2 door version and I think it looks so cool with its iconic shape in aqua blue and with chunky 18"tyres. I also love the way it drives; it's so rock solid on and off the road. In the time I've owned my Wrangler I've replaced a brake light bulb and put a set of all terrain tyres on. It's been very reliable. All in all my Jeep puts a smile on my face like no other vehicle could do.

The Wrangler is a proper old school 4x4. Buy if you want a vehicle that you actually have to drive, rather than just steer. Sure a Discovery 3 is a better car but it depends on how you define "better". If you take better as an anonymous appliance that you steer, park, and don't look back at, then get the Discovery. Kids love the Jeep and every drive becomes an adventure. Reliability has been good with only routine maintenance needed. The doors don't stay open which is a pain but there's a kit to modify it. The removable roof panels are superb. What would l change? The standard alloys are a bit bland and the huge subwoofer takes up boot space. The front bumper is massive but it shrugs off minor impacts (and you can fit an alternative if you really want to)

I have owned three previous Land Rover vehicles, a Defender and two Series 2 Discoverys, a TD5 and a V8. Each developed expensive mechanical faults early in their lives. This Wrangler is my third Jeep and has been completely trouble free. I have both hard and soft tops which depending on the time of year are alternated. The Spanish climate allows at least 7 - 8 months of top down driving which is where this vehicle displays it's enviable versatility. I drive it along twisting mountain dirt and gravel roads with confidence and, unbelievably, in snow last week where it ventured up into the snow line without any dramas. Yes it is cramped inside, yes it drives like a small truck, yes the manual gearbox is ponderous and clunky - but this vehicle is indestructible. It feels solid and dependable. It will cruise in sixth gear at motorway speeds without the need to change gear for even the steepest gradient. My wife and I love it, our Wrangler will always stay with us even though grandchildren have forced the purchase of a second seven seat vehicle. Strangely every guest we have all want to be in the Jeep.

It's beyond me how the Wrangler gets bad reviews...it is the most fun car I've ever owned....even after six years, I still get a buzz out of it because it has real personality. It's been completely reliable, we find it comfortable, practical and enjoyable to get from A to B in. It doesn't go round the corners like a Mini... but that is half the appeal. You have to engage with it, and in too many other cars there is nothing to excite or interest. It's great to be able to remove the roof panels and let the sun in, and we have even unbolted the entire roof on occasions... always risky in British weather. Only one complaint... the warning bleeps and buzzes that are just plain irritating.

My advice to people who are thinking of buying a Wrangler is to ignore the car reviews that give this SUV poor ratings. This is an extreme 4x4 vehicle so don't expect it to have the road manners of a BMW or the like. Fantastic off road and a reasonable ride on tarmac, reliable with a punchy diesel engine. Seats are comfortable despite what some reviews say, but the auto box does leave a lot to be desired when driving on country lanes. This can be overcome by using the auto box as a manual gearbox. On straight roads or motorways auto box is adequate. The fuel figures Jeep give are over exaggerated (as most manufacturers do), I get around 24.5 around town and around 27/8 driving at 70 mph. Not bad really for a Jeep. This car has presence and is a real head turner, the list of after market accessories is endless so you can customise your Jeep to make it unique. The top can be removed in a matter of minutes and can be stored in the rear of Jeep. Despite what reviews say (and I have owned 2 Wranglers in the past) I have never had a leak from the roof if it is replaced in the correct manner (read the handbook) I love my Jeep and so does my wife. It does drive differently to other SUVs but you will soon get use to it. Reliability is excellent and the car is easy to work on if you want to do your own servicing, fluid changes etc. I sold my last Wrangler and bought a Mazda CX-5, which has a rating of 4.5 stars on most reviews, it was a lovely car but so booooring (yawn), I only kept it 6 months as it didn't have the presence and personality of a Wrangler. Go on buy one you won't regret it!
