The Skoda Octavia is built like a solid tractor. One of the most reliable cars out there (although a tad noisy on the inside).

I bought it 12 months ago, the car was 4 months old at the time. The car has been fantasic . Running costs are below what i expected, petrol consumption is good for a hot hatch. Sports suspession can be a bit hard but i was aware of this when i bought it. Not the best view out of rear which can be a pain when parking in tight spaces but no worse than a lot of vehicles. I would recommend both skoda and the octavia model.

A good car ruined by poor electrics and poor build quality. Three electical faults have occured, one involving the air bag and this took several attempts and eventually a lot of money to fix. Parts are difficult to get to to fix, for example the front of the car had to be taken appart to get to the intercooler. This model is not a s good as the previous model. Many of the improvements are just plainly annoying. The doors lock automatically when you drive along, and only the drivers doors open unless you attempt a double click on the fob which is quite difficult!

This is my 4th skoda octavia, it was previously from a hire car fleet and had a few minor issues when i bought it but it is now totally dependable and a pleasure to drive long distances. I am a little disappointed with its economy, my previous car had the older generation engine and was considerable more economical, without any compromise on performance, the new bmw efficient dynamics diesels are better and might be my preferred choice next time.

This is my second octavia. This Is the 1.4tsi coupled with the 7speed auto box. What a combination. Some Years ago i had a 2litre mk 2 mondeo, this motor gives you lots more fun.The Boot space puts many bigger cars to shame.I Have a son who uses a wheelchair, there is no need to dismantle the chair the boot swallows it easily. That Guy shutting the door of a golf,my octavia sounds more upmarket "check it out"

The 2.0 tdi vrs is an absolute jem of a car bags of torque, quick and economical. This car is so under rated by people who snub the badge but really people like me who own one are having the last laugh. It's the best car i have owned.

Brilliant! A spacious, comfortable, high quality and well built car that has everything and does everything i need and all at a bargain price. There are endless well thought out touches and lifting the bonnet shows audi and vw badges alongside skoda. I can see no point in paying another £5000 pounds for a golf, which is less practical (much smaller boot), mechanically the same and involves dealers that are not as good.

. Comfortable, good value especially with vat free & 0% hire purchase deal. Seems to have a lot of vw& audi parts without paying their prices. Thousands of taxi owners cannot be wrong. Any badge snobbery with this lacks logic. Go easy with the left foot & economy rises to 70 mpg-unbelievable but true

Bought on the basis of its quality & reliability reputation. Has required a new flywheel at 65000, then a turbo at 72000 then a new brake caliper and dust shield at 75000 now at 80000 the computer has crashed and it looks as though it will need replaced. Up till now i have spent over £3000 on repairs and the electronics look as though they will cost a fortune as well. I am completely disgusted by the car and also the after sales service of skoda. Not interested! Never again will i buy another skoda.
