We leased this car from Mercedes. It has broken down five times since last summer ... thirteen weeks in garage in total. They won't compensate or upgrade. Car is an appalling piece of junk and customer service was outrageous.

I bought this car new in October 2013, and have had it around 18 months. It has been completely problem free and a delight to use. I've owned a petrol smart before. I run a PC repair company, so I spend most of the day driving around collecting and delivering laptops. This includes lots of motorway and town driving, and short charges between jobs. Most days days I average 80-100 miles, occasionally I do much more than that. The charge cable has the option to fast charge which will do a full charge in just over 3 hours, but that's not recommended daily. The car is quiet and very refined. It's actually eerily quiet to the point where the indicators sound really loud. The car also feels very strong. Much stronger than my 2007 smart. The doors close with a heavy thump. The power delivery is surprising. It's very torquey, and from zero the acceleration feels stronger than most hot hatches I've driven. The power comes very smoothly too. The smartphone app is a delight. It gives me a full breakdown of my driving style, and economy, and how to improve it to extend battery range. The car has a tracker built in to the app, remote car heating/cooling with a timer. When I get into the car on a winter morning, the windows are defrosted, the cabin warm, and the seat heaters are on. That's nice. It's actually hard to find a lot wrong with the car. People moan about range, but I knew it was about 90 miles before I bought it, but plug it in when you're not using it and even with the distances I'm doing, the battery rarely drops below 30%. I'd say the biggest problem is the dealerships. Mercedes dealerships are poor. They charged me £100 to collect my car for service (although the service itself only costs £36) then found that they didn't have the service parts in stock, so I had to wait three days while they ordered them in, then they broke my charge cable and that was another 2 week wait while another was sent from Germany. They tried to make me pay £700 for that too. No apologies from the dealership, they apparently had no courtesy cars available, and promised that a manager would call me to hear my complaint (didn't happen), and no response from Mercedes UK customer service following a lengthy phone and email complaint.
