So far no problems. Bought the car as an alternative to BMW, and the dashboard is of equal quality to that of BMW. Nicer interior than a4 cabriolet I tested, which seemed gloomy in comparison

Being the 2.0T with 210bhp its reasonable at 31.4mpg. Servicing cheaper than BMW rates, and so far nothing wrong with the car.

I keep this serviced to schedule by an indipendent specialist. Very few repairs other then the pads/tyres/batteries and other stuff you expect given the age and mileage (145,000) of the car. A couple of rattles from the dash and tiny rust patch over a wheel arch but nothing to get excited about and entirely consistant with the age/mileage. Ususlly sails through MOT tests.
Running Cost

4 out of 5

At 145,000 miles its had a couple of minor repairs over the last 12 months, water pump, injector seals, suspecsion bushes. However the slight increase in maintenance is more then off-set by the reduced depreciation and being a diesel the fule costs are reduced. Overall the total cost of ownership allowing for initial cost, maintenance, servicing and fule costs are very reasonable.

Although initially had some problems with the cruise control, the car has otherwise been reliable and fault free up to this year's MOT.

The cost of parts is astronomical. Even the oil for an oil change is three times the price of 'normal' oil. But you can't risk using the wrong sort, as this could cause damage, which will be even more expensive to repair.

My issue is with the dvlc, as the engine is 2.0L and the car is marked as 1.8(bhp chipped down). I would have expected that the tax level would be classed at 1.8 and not 2.0. I also wish that the parameters on the auto gearbox could be reconfigured

In 18 months of ownership the car has been very reliable, only once failing to start; worn battery and alternator (at just over 40,000 miles). Slightly disappointed as this is first car I have had in over 20 years that both have failed. I average 15,000 miles/year, mostly daily motorway driving. No problems with build quality.

Very please with running costs averaging 48mpg (mostly motorway driving). Franchised servicing on the pricey side and parts from a non-franchised garage quite expensive (£560 for battery and alternator - parts and labour).
