Jaguar launches new E-Pace R-Dynamic Black Edition
New Jaguar E-Pace R-Dynamic Black SUV features gloss black styling and extra tech
- Features more equipment as standard
- Available with a choice of mild-hybrid powertrains
- On sale now from £40,945
This is the Jaguar E-Pace R-Dynamic Black Edition, the latest model to be added to the E-Pace SUV range. It follows Black Edition versions of the F-Type and I-Pace models launched last month, and is on sale now with a price tag of £40,945.
The new model is distinguishable by 19-inch satin grey alloy wheels, contrasting red brake callipers and a panoramic sunroof. Like the F-Type and I-Pace variants, the R-Dynamic Black Edition also gets gloss black air intakes, grille surround and door mirror caps.
Interior and specifications
The E-Pace R-Dynamic Black comes with a well-equipped cabin as standard. Buyers get air-conditioning, leather upholstery and a wireless smartphone charger. It also gets Jaguar Land Rover’s Pivi Pro Infotainment system, a setup that comprises a 11.4-inch curved central touchscreen and a fully configurable 12.3-inch digital driver display.
With the introduction of the new R-Dynamic Black Edition, Jaguar has also made some adjustments to the rest of the E-Pace range, including some new standard tech for the entry-level model. The E-Pace S now gets memory settings for the seats and door mirrors, plus high-beam assist. Mid-range SE models, meanwhile, now come with an upgraded Meridian sound system.
The sportier, range-topping R-Dynamic models also get Jaguar’s Configurable Dynamics system. This enables the driver to adjust the E-Pace’s throttle and gearbox response. If buyers choose to spec their R-Dynamic with the optional adaptive dampers, the system will also allow them to configure the car’s suspension.
A Cabin Air Purification system is now standard across the range, as a nod to prioritising passengers’ health and wellbeing. It’s designed to improve the quality of the cabin air by removing unpleasant odours and contaminants as small as 2.5 microns in size using ultra-fine filters.
Engines and performance
The R-Dynamic Black Edition is available with Jaguar’s 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol and diesel mild-hybrid (MHEV) powertrains, producing up to 296bhp. All are matched to a nine-speed automatic gearbox and four-wheel drive as standard.
