- Available now from £46,765
The recently facelifted Jaguar F-Pace is now available as a new R-Dynamic Black model. Priced at £46,765, it features a distinctive design and benefits from some extra equipment.
Exterior and design
The F-Pace R-Dynamic Black features Jaguar’s Black Pack, which includes gloss black 20-inch alloy wheels with contrasting red brake callipers. The black colour scheme continues on the mirror caps, bumper vents, grille, rear bumper and lower door panels. The R-Dynamic Black is also fitted with gloss black roof rails as standard, along with a fixed panoramic roof and privacy glass.
Customers can choose from 10 different paint finishes for their R-Dynamic Black, including one solid finish and seven metallic paints, which are included in the price, along with two optional ‘premium’ metallic paints.
Interior and specifications
Inside, the R-Dynamic Black is trimmed in grey veneers and features metal pedals with an ambient lighting system that offers a choice of 30 colours. The R-Dynamic Black is also equipped with an updated version of Jaguar’s cabin filtration system.
Air Purge, the first of the system’s two new features, uses the climate control fans and recirculation function to freshen the air inside the vehicle before the doors are opened. You can set a departure time through the infotainment touchscreen or via the Jaguar Remote smartphone app. Cabin CO2 sensing, meanwhile, monitors and regulates the carbon dioxide level in the F-Pace’s interior, allowing more fresh air into the cabin when necessary.
Jaguar’s Pivi Pro infotainment system, which is available across the range, features a range of embedded apps, such as Spotify, and supports wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. However, Jaguar has confirmed that wireless connectivity is soon to become available via a software-over-the-air (SOTA) update, which enables Pivi Pro and other vehicle systems to be updated remotely.
Safety and driver assistance features
The new F-Pace R-Dynamic Black introduces a new feature to the car’s comprehensive driver assistance systems. Adaptive cruise control with steering assist can autonomously take control of the steering, acceleration and braking of the F-Pace to centre the vehicle in lane while maintaining a set distance from vehicles ahead.
Self-sealing tyres, meanwhile, are another new option for the F-Pace. They feature an integrated sealant layer within the tyre cavity which means, should something penetrate the tread, the sealant surrounds the object and can form an air-tight seal. This will maintain the air pressure and enable the driver to continue their journey.
Powertrains and performance
Like the rest of the range, the R-Dynamic Black is offered with a choice of powertrains, ranging from the 160bhp 2.0-litre ‘mild-hybrid’ (MHEV) four-cylinder diesel to the 399bhp 2.0-litre plug-in hybrid (PHEV) petrol, badged P400e. All models feature all-wheel drive and are linked to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The latter can complete the 0-62mph sprint in just over five seconds, emits 49g/km of CO2 and can manage up to 128.4mpg.
When plugged into a fast charger, the P400e’s battery can be topped up from 0-80% in as little as 30 minutes. When using a 7kW AC domestic wallbox, however, it will take around an hour and 40 minutes.
F-Pace R-Dynamic Black SVR
The R-Dynamic Black can also be had in flagship SVR guise, which uses a 542bhp 5.0-litre V8 supercharged engine. Priced at £78,165, it benefits from enhanced dynamics and boasts a motorsport-inspired design with a performance-focused interior. It takes just four seconds to reach 0-62mph and will go on to reach a top speed of 178mph.
