I was really looking forward to owning an F type, they look great sound even better and drive superbly. But the build quality is in the British Leyland tradition, terrible. I have owned the car 8 weeks, it has been back to the dealers for 3 weeks and is currently there again at the moment, 7 days so far and not expecting to get it back for another 5. They took the roof off by mistake. When I had it in to get the roof/door rubbers replaced! The air conditioning system has been replaced, the centre air vent replaced, rear view mirror replaced, alloy wheel replaced. The paint job has dozens of flaws and the interior has many scratches and blemishes. The interior is very plasticky with cheap quality switches and bits of fake carbon fibre. The LCD display is very old fashioned as is the user interface. Stereo is ok but the speakers rattle if there is any bass at all in the music you play. This is my first and last jag, All this happened in 900 miles, 400 of which we're taking the car back to the dealer.

Falling to bits after 900 miles. Roof replaced, door seals replaced, air con replaced, rear view mirror replaced, alloy wheel replaced, many flaws in the paint work blemishes and scratches on the interior trim and cable ties mysteriously appearing in the gaps in the nose cone.

Awesome car, comfortable, brash when you want it to be, understated when you don't. Fault free so far at 13,000km.

The 5.0ltr V8S is a car of extremes, extreme power, extreme noise and extreme caution needed when driving. You will lose the back end quicker than an excited dog on ice. But once you have sharpened up your reflexes and got accustomed to its fierce behaviour it is a well resolved, bang up to date performance car. No regrets getting mine so far.
