The only issue is that I don't drive it enough, and the battery tends to go flat. I've had to call the AA out for this several times. This isn't the car's fault though, and every other aspect of it is faultless.

The RX8 is an amazing car so long as you ensure fluids are kept topped up, and maintained. If you look after it, the car is amazing.

Great if looked after and must be service more often than manufacturer recommends. Mazda service schedule is not good enough to maintain a rotary engine

Temperamental engine when it comes to flooding. Mazda parts are expensive to replace. That said, when in good working order, the rotary engine is awesome!

Even thirstier than i expects (21 mpg average, made worde by small fuel tank) but oil consumption less of a problem than i expected. Surprisingly practical, great to drive & instrument layout good.

The car is a good car if your not expecting fuel economy, it looks stylish, has great performance and also comfortable for the customer, not so much for back seat passengers. The car is very unique in styling and components. I love it.

Fun to drive, at first. But the engine and ignition, hmm. Fuel economy never good, has gone from 25mpg to 21, and a lot of power has gone as well. It has only done 50000 miles. Mazda main dealers near me have been very disappointing. In both servicing and fault diagnosis. It is for that reason, not the car itself, that i will avoid buying mazda in future.

The 230 rx8 is fantastic for performance and handling. Due to the wankle rotary engine, it take a bit of looking after, like checking the oil level very other petrol fill-up, but this is a minor niggle which is far outweighed by the excitement of the drive (handling and performance) road tax is high and economy low, but i didn't buy the car for low cost motoring!! It is no good in snow, so bought some auto socks to get me out of being stuck!! Overall 8/10 for what i want out of a car at this time!

Horrifc economy - sub 18mpg on occasion and at it's best still isn't close to manufacturers provided mpg. Nice looking though with great suicide doors!

All the benefits of a sports car with the flexibility of a car with 4 seats & doors. Thirsty on fuel, but it was bought to have fun in, not watch the mpg. Fantastic performance car - it handles very well and the engine is very smooth and has plenty of power once revved up. Great build quality too - been very reliable.

Fantastic car. Has generally aged gracefully, and is still as fun to drive as when i got it. Perfomance issues and then a blown engine have overshadowed the experience a bit, but i paid (through the nose) for an extended warranty, which covered the grief.

Absolute pleasure to drive. Real head turner due to looks and sound. Extremely quick for a 1.3l litre rotary engine. Highly recommend to anyone and everyone i meet.

Potential to be a great car, but the engine is fundamentally flawed. Very practical, comfortable, well-equipped and modern, but is hampered by astronomical running costs and very unreliable engine and catalytic converter.

I think that people give the mazda rx8 a bad name due to previous iterations of the rotary engine, if looked after like any other performance engine it will reward you. The car overall is now looking a little dated, but i can live with it as no other car apart from the 8 looks like, sounds like or drives like the mazda rx8

Amazing handling and performance but needed a new engine 2 months out of warranty which mazda provided a new engine but i had to pay £2k for fitting! Mazda has appalling customer service

Overall a very good car, i'm pleased i bought one. Surprised by the cost of parts and the lack of 'japanese' reliability. High running costs were expected but did not expect to be replacing the items that failed. Will probably buy another alfa romeo next.

Surprisingly practical - took four of us, including 2 parents aged 80+, on holiday. I would prefer a car with a full size spare wheel, and problem of rotary engine for very short trips limits usability. Fuel consumption is high, but i expected that - a larger fuel tank would help.

The rx-8 offers some practicality above other 2 door sports cars in that the additional semi-doors which allow access to the very well poprotioned rear seats that can take full grown adults comfortably.

I have owned 4 rx-8`s now - and i consider it to be a brilliant car badly let down by mazda uk and it`s dealer network, i have now used 5 different mazda dealers and all have been appalling if my car goes in for service and i get it back undamaged i am lucky. Never another mazda for me i`m afraid

Unreliable, build quality iffy but totally amazing to drive, rotary engine drinks fuel but no more than any other car that offers the same performance, handling is insanely good. Due to having to buy a new engine at 32k miles i will never buy a mazda ever again
