Porsche Taycan

After months of teasers, the Porsche Taycan has been revealed. It’s the firm’s first fully electric car, and will go head to head with the Tesla Model S in the battle for EV supremacy. The two trim levels available at launch, 'Turbo' and 'Turbo S’, have been joined by a cheaper 4S version. The Turbo S produces as much as 750bhp, while all models get active aerodynamics and an array of futuristic looking displays in the cabin.

Volkswagen ID.3

Price: ~ £26,000
Now available to pre-order, the Volkswagen ID.3 is the firm’s first of an entirely new generation of ‘ID’ badged pure-electric cars. Production started in late 2019, with the first cars arriving in showrooms in early 2020. Three different battery versions will be available offering a range of 205 to 342 miles per charge depending on battery size. Entry-level cars are expected to use a single rear-mounted motor to drive the rear wheels, while higher spec models are likely to have two motors for four-wheel drive.
