Volvo XC60 picks up styling and tech from XC90 for 2025
Changes for 2025 include a larger infotainment screen and a new front grille to match the XC90
- Host of updates for the 2025 Volvo XC60
- Larger infotainment screen with new software
- Styling tweaks and new paint colours
The Volvo XC60 may be celebrating its eighth birthday this year, but that hasn’t stopped the Swedish brand from tweaking and tinkering with it for 2025. In fact, the updated model arrives after a record sales year for the XC60, proving that it’s still a hit with mid-size SUV shoppers despite its age.
It’s hardly a surprise then that Volvo has kept the changes fairly minimal for this update. The updates largely fall in line with the new Volvo XC90 we saw towards the end of last year, including a bigger infotainment screen and some exterior styling tweaks. There’s no word on UK pricing yet, but the new XC60 will land in UK showrooms later this year.
What’s changed for the 2025 XC60?
It’s a fairly minor update this time around for the XC60 – in fact, little has changed about Volvo’s best-selling SUV since it first went on sale. The biggest update is found in the cabin, where the old nine-inch touchscreen infotainment display has been replaced by a new 11.2-inch unit. It’s still orientated vertically, but it now sits proud of the dashboard, much like in the new XC90.
The old display was beginning to feel a bit outdated among newer SUVs – it hadn’t changed since 2017 – but the new one brings some modern enhancements besides the bigger size. The pixel density has increased by over 20% so it should look much crisper, plus it runs Volvo’s latest operating system. This new software was recently rolled out across the Volvo range, bringing a more intuitive interface and faster graphics.
That’s not all for the interior, either. Volvo has introduced some new materials and trim options for 2025, including ‘Quilted Nordico’ and ‘Navy Herringbone Weave’, aimed at making the cabin feel more luxurious. Oh, and there are new cupholders, too.
Outside, there’s little to report. You’ll spot the new asymmetrical front grille that first appeared on the refreshed XC90, but it hasn’t picked up a new set of headlights like its bigger sibling. Instead, the tail-lights now have a darker tint and there are new alloy wheel options and paint colours to pick from.
We suspect the new XC60 will be offered with the same choice of mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid engines as before. The former is the cheapest option, with a 247bhp 2.0-litre petrol engine and small electric motor, while the two PHEVs cost more but deliver more power and an electric driving range of around 50 miles.
The updated Volvo XC60 is likely to cost marginally more than the outgoing model, which currently starts from £47,615 in mild hybrid guise, or £56,030 for the plug-in. More UK-specific details will be confirmed before it goes on sale later this year.
