I tow a caravan with my car, it is very low on power, was considering changing it for the new black edition, reading some of the reviews I think I will give it a miss. All the dealer wants to do is sell, sell, sell all the time. Not a patch on the Nissan X-Trail. Alan.

This car has suffered from sporadic electrical leakage problems since new. Left me stranded on week one. Have had similar occurrences on three other occasions. Dealer replaced battery under warranty but next time at my cost . Latest bill (£300) was for dodgy solenoid in gearbox. Dealer wouldn't budge on my argument that car had a fault since new and Honda UK were worse than hopeless. It is now running fine and I keep my fingers crossed that it will start after a week idle in an airport car park. Otherwise it us a fine car, comfortable, roomy and gutsy enough for me. Good in ice and snow with mud and snow tyres it came with. Quite difficult to load but the new shape has overcome that. With my experience of Honda customer service when things go wrong I think I will look at the competition when the time comes to replace.

Hand brake failure. Replaced by Honda who said after examination there was nothing wrong with the hand brake in the first place. Brakes make an awful noise when stating off. Goes after a few miles. I thought it was worn brake pads but had them checked and there are OK. Tyre deflation warning light keeps coming on for no reason

A really good trouble free vehicle. It will return 44mpg all day long, quite good for a 4x4, but i wish it was an automatic. The honda model range is dominated by the american market, which means that the development of the diesel range was very slow. The diesel automatic crv has only just arrived and it's still a bit of a compromise. ie. will only tow 1.5 tonnes as against 2 tonnes for the manual.

Outstanding economy and practicality. Good handling but poor ride when lightly loaded. Looks a bit odd from some angles. Build quality excellent. Too early to comment on reliability. Lots of toys for the money. Needs efficient diesel/auto combination with more than 5 speeds and a more powerful engine as per audi q5, bmw x3 to make it really competitive.

Quite simply brilliant! It does everything you could wish for in a car, in all conditions. It even took all the recent snow in its stride, we were able to take our friends parents to hospital when their car was stuck knee deep in the stuff. Would recomend one to everyone.

Excellent all round family car which is perfect for us as a family of 4. Lots of load space in the boot with bags of leg room both front and back. Load space in the boot is even bigger when you fold all the rear seats flat which is very handy. Great idea having reclining and sliding rear seat adjustment for a more comfortable ride for your passengers. Engine is great, a well balanced good all round 2.0l vtec, great for the motorway or urban driving. This is our 2nd honda 4x4, and our 3rd honda we have owned altogether, every one has been a pleasure to own and run, fantastic manufacturer.

I bought one of these from a car auction in Midland area, 123,000 on clock but full dealer service history. Now has 132,000 on clock, best car i have owned but i was coming from a slow lumbering Pajero 2.8!! Still on original clutch, have towed with heavy caravan to mid France 5 times and 3 solo. Sqeaky clutch pedal but , hey, get a life some of you! Surprised at the clutch trouble some of these have had but i bet the failure percentage is small given total sales figures. Would definetley recommend to anyone

Only one breakdown when the fuel gauge sender seized (ran out of petrol). Strange noises meant differential oil changed earlier than scheduled by manufacturer. SatNav a nightmare to fix.

An excellent car that is well made, reliable and relatively cheap to run. It is a family workhorse and also is used as a tow car, travelling over 20,000 miles per year and hasn't missed a beat. It has been fantastic over the last two winters when the snow and ice have caught many other cars out. The car is a pleasure to own and i would recommend it to anyone.

The car is the best i have ever had, has never let me down since i bought it in 2004 brand new, the only thing that went wrong was the sat-nav (silly idea anyway) using a dvd, i have now bought a proper sat-nav with an sd card i can update it free on the internet from the makers website, rather than buying an updated dvd of honda's for £180

This is my third CR-V, the first one being the original model with the 2.0l petrol engine. I keep each of them for approximately 5 years and change around the 100K mile mark. This current model is the best so far, it is very comfortable, especially for long journeys and is economical to boot. I'm not a racing car driver and stick to the speed limits, returning between 43 and 47 mpg around town and up 60 mpg on long motorway trips. To date, apart from a set of tyres, I haven't changed a light bulb. All y CR-Vs have been extremely reliable and a joy to drive. I also tow a caravan and return 33-35 mpg when touring. The diesel is the better option, as I was getting the same mpg on the petrol variant without the caravan. My only bug-bear would be the cost of servicing. I find that especially at a major service, it can be a bit on the expensive side. My job takes me all over the Province and I require a comfortable drive which the CR-V gives me. I also caravan in France for 4-5 weeks each year, again finding the car a joy to drive.

My four previous cars were vw passats, 2 petrol salons and 2 diesel estates, all near the top of the range model. l bought them new, privately owned and all had minor niggling faults in the three year that i kept each car. During this time my wife had 2 honda civics and nothing ever went wrong. I decided to change from vw and a step up to honda crv seemed the right move. Apart from petrol consumption the crv is a better car than any of my vw's. The honda is rock solid and reliable and due to my advancing years much easier to get in to and out of than any car i have previously owned.

I think my car is fantasic in more ways than one. In winter with all the snow i did not have aproblem like other people, because of my inteligent 4 x 4. Practicality is very good and the boot size is very largs. Reliability is the tops though because they never go wrong.

Great value for money all purpose vehicle that has been totally reliable up to this point at 21k miles. Car would be almost perfect if tyre wear was better and interior was made from better materials to not show wear & tear so easily. My petite wife is also very confident in the car & handles it with ease. It was great for the harsh winter & snow. Replacement tyres are very expensive. Great car.

Feels safe and useful in the hills where we live. Surprised by major breakages in clutch; throttle linkage electronics; air con/heating controls; and built-in satnav. Most of these were repaired under a honda used car warrenty, without which it would have been a very expensive car to run. The warrrenty wasn't cheap either! Normal work at honda dealership was is above average prices. I bought on the basis that reports listed this as an economic car to run. It is definitely not!!! Having said that, it does the country lanes, kept us safe in the ice, towed a caravan across europe, and is comfortable and easy to drive.

Engine is strong and reliable, but is thirsty for a diesel returning the sort of mpg I would expect from a petrol equivalent. Main problems have been rear brakes requiring new disks and pads due to scoring and the legendary CR-V squeaky clutch - on previous cars only ever repaired by replacing the brake master cylinder, expensive out of warranty as ours is. it doesn't affect the operation of the clutch or gear change so it's getting left! Otherwise quite solid and reliable with good 4WD capability mainly used in snow. There are however newer and better SUVs on the market.

Very reliable, solid, excellent 4x4, very comfortable and lots of room inside. Economical and great at towing the caravan Engine a bit underpowered but the current model has put that right, internal plastic finishes are not very resilient. I find some difficulty in judging where the front wheels are when negotiating a tight corner but the sensors are a great help..

Only bought the cr-v in october 2010 just before the bad winter weather and it has performed without hesitation. Sometimes on icy roads care has to be taken as the part time 4wd can only do so much, but overall i am very happy and glad that i bought it when i did.

This is my 5th cr-v - i love the car, the service from my dealer is always first class - nothing is ever a problem and that's why i, my daughter and my son have bought from them. I know want a seven seat 4x4 - but the brand and dealer i love doesn't have anything for me. This is going to be a problem when i come to change!

The car was purchased because it has 4 wheel drive capability. Whilst the 4x4 system is not as robust as the one on a previous discovery, the reliabilty, comfort, ride, acceleration and economy more than makes up for this as the 4x4 function was only for adverse weather conditions. However, owing to the styling confusion presesent in the current model crv, i would not buy one, when it is replaced by a car which has styling integrity i would not hesitate to buy one providing that honda don't do a land rover and elevate the price to stratospheric levels.

The car has proved ultra reliable, practical, comfortable and very reasonable on fuel for a 4x4 (albeit only 4x4 if the front wheels lose traction). The painted aspects of the inner door handles have worn from closing the doors which shows the lack of quality and could be improved. This is a minor gripe considering how good the car has been for the last three years and i would suggest certainly meets or surpasses the expectations of a suv.

I am shocked by Honda's lack of commitment to their safety recalls as last year I was told drivers air bag component needed replacing which took well over 2 months to repair. I have just received this morning that the passenger airbag have a fault that incase of a collision the airbag could deploy and metal fragments can also burst through the bag into the vehicle compartment, but they can't repair this until 10/4/2018,THE POWER Of DREAMS/NIGHTMARES, THANKS A LOT HONDA.

It does exactly what it says it will do. The slightly reduced marks for ride comfort handling etc are an expected compromise for choosing and owning this type of car. I love the car and the part time four wheel drive has really come into it's own in the bad weather. It is almost the perfect vehicle for our weather, well currently anyway.

Eats oil - expensive oil! Cheap interior and very poor stereo sound. Noisy, poor handling, over weight, windscreen pick up chips easily Good visibility, ok in snow, double layer shelving good in boot Therefore poor selection for 360 days a year. Super expensive parts - fog lamp = £180 not fitted!, Fog lamp and sensor at front fitted = £380 inc vat. Windscreen estimated at £700, tbc Dealer quoted 1/2 hour labour (£13) to fit a screw in component that infact took 45 seconds.(rear washer jet) Leaves a bad taste in mouth with honda costs
