Low mileage so problems not expected.

Low mpg plus exorbitant diesel cost equals expensive running costs, not helped by dear licence.

Other than tiny niggles (which have all been rectified by the dealer) it has not failed to get me where I need to be.

It's a 2 tonne oil burning 4x4 - does more need to be said?

Fantastic - completely reliable, ideal family size car, comfortable, refined, well equipped, good performance given the size/weight, good looking. the only negative point is the fuel consumption and frequent oil top ups

Pleasantly surprised at seeing 32 mpg on the motorway at the legal limit and from a car weighing 2.2 tonnes. Trip computer says average from Day 1 is 26 mpg - my average has been 28 mpg.

The car has been very good. However, there has been a few issues that appear to be more the result of poor dealer service than mechanical fault!

Taxation is too high, although that's probably got more to do with the Government than the vehicle! It does tend to burn-through pads and disks though.

If you decide to purchase one of these, make sure you take out the Mercedes extended warranty, it's expensive but worth every penny! The faults I've experienced have been extensive and would have been expensive if not for the warranty. Parts replaced so far on a vehicle that has still not covered 49K miles: Inlet port shut off motor, turbocharger, gearbox battery, automatic gearbox rebuilt to replace B3 circlip, tailgate latching mechanism, torque converter, rear brake light electrics, passenger seat airbag sensor, accelerator pedal assembly and rear springs. The auto gearbox has been recalibrated numerous times, due to harsh changes. Thankfully all this was repaired under warranty. When it is running without issues it's very comfortable, quick and fairly economical for a large 4x4. The dealers I found to be excellent, especially the one in Sheffield.
