What a cracking little car. Given to me as a company car and despite it only having a 1400cc diesel turbo engine it is very very nippy and has no problem cruising at a competent speed or negotiating bendy country lanes. It is the basic model with steel rims but still performs very well, is comfortable and very agile. I have now completed 32k in just 18 months and no problems at all with 64.1mpg which was set when I first got the car so a true reading. The car gets driven quite hard at times but never changes from 64.1. The only issue I have at the moment is that on occasions the clutch starts to slip when under load in 3/4th gears at about 3000rpm but the car is in for service this week so don't know if it is a cable clutch that can be adjusted or if this means there is another more serious problem. Other than that great little car which we use all the time with confidence.

Love my 208 to bits! Start off by saying that it looks great, in the Oasis Blue it stands out from the crowd, espeically with the 16 inch alloy wheels that mine had as an extra, makes for a great looking car. When it came to gettin the 208, I was sold on it by the interior, everything feels well put together and it looks like a much more expensive product than what it is. The only downsides on the inside in my experience is that the drivers seat has a squeak to it, however having consulted forums I've found that getting some WD40 into every nook and cranny on the seat fixes it. With mine being an Active model, it does miss out on Sat Nav, which I'm not overly bothered about as having looked at reviews the Peugeot system is nothing to write home about, my phone on a windscreen mount does the job, probably better than what the inbuilt system would if the reviews are anything to go by. The 1.4 HDI engine, with my use being a lot of start stop the MPG isn't what Peugeot say it is, I'm getting 50-60mpg at the minute, which I don't think is bad at all considering the way its driven. I've taken it on a run to the coast over the summer and it averaged 78 mpg, which I think sells the engine immediately. I would like it to have a bit more power, however it has no issue at all keeping up with traffic, on the motorway it can pull really strongly, it's an absolute delight on motorways, and will happily sit doing over 60mpg at 80, not that I've tested it of course! Overall, love the car to bits and would recommend to anyone, everyone who has been in it went from having doubts, with it being a Peugeot, to really being suprised by how nice it is!

I am really disappointed in the problem of taking off on first gear. I can with concentration take off smoothly, but normally when I disengage the clutch, the car shudders. I am not happy with it as it makes me feel like I am a learner driver again!

Haven't had the car long enough to comment on reliability but very impressed with car. Changed from a Toyota Aygo which was rather noisey but reliable. Now this 208 hits the perfect compromise between power and economy. I love it. Very comfortable seats, smooth quiet running, excellent ventilation and a good looking car

After just over a year and 12,800 miles on the clock no problems so far. Sometimes the gear change makes a whumph type noise but I must be used to it as I don't always notice it. The service light came on at just over 9,000 miles so I took it to my local French car specialist. They said don't wait for 12,000 as we do lots of short journeys with the odd motorway trips. The boot takes the weekly shop with ease, lots of space inside, a good looking interior and well made. The paint colour Virtual Blue is outstanding on such a pretty car. For a one-litre three-pot engine it goes rather well, not fast but where I live 0 to 60 doesn't mean much. Motorway driving is fuss free, no road tax is a bonus, mpg is good - usually 58 mpg but have had 68. But the glove box is a joke, it's big enough for a glove and that's all. They were to lazy to move the fuse box over. All in all I have had no regrets buying it at all so far.

I would recommend not buying a Peugeot 208 as I have had nothing but problems with mine. Starting from the steering rack going after only having the car for four years and very few miles – a repair that cost me £1500 to fix. A new exhaust cost me £600 – it was hanging off, and there have been other issues. Peugeot has been no help as the car was just out of warranty. It's the worst car I have ever owned.

I've had this car for just over one year and even after driving it pretty hard almost all of the time I get good fuel consumption and have had no problems! Its such an easy drive and not too rough and bumpy for a car of its size. Because I'm young my only problem with it is that it needs more oomph but as it's my first car it definitely fits the bill as a hott-ish little hatch! Defo a car you grow an attachment to!

This is my third Peugeot since 2000 and is a very nice car. The engine is very powerful for its size with very low running costs. The seats are comfortable like other Peugeots. It's been reliable and and stability is very good too. Only bad point is the gearbox – something I have found with PSA cars.

Although it took some time to get the hang of making a smooth start in 1st gear it is a matter of practice and is now OK. I have found the car comfortable to drive on both local journeys and longer motorway trips. The gear change isn't great but I had a Peugeot before so was aware of this issue. There is not much storage space inside the car and a significant blind spot when when driving around a right hand bend because of the front door pillar. Fuel consumption is around 40-42mpg although I am a frugal driver so many would find that quite difficult to achieve especially on short local trips which is most of my driving. So far - after owning for 15 months - the car has performed faultlessly so I have no complaints about its reliability. Gave it three stars because of the lack of storage space inside the car and the sometimes scary blind spot. Finally it's £20 to tax and insurance (for me anyway) is very reasonable.

Worst thing I have ever bought!!!! The Peugeot 208 is the biggest mistake I had ever made. Yes the car is stylish, practical and cheap but apart from that....it's just problems. I have the car for what 6 months now and had it from New (on finance) and at first I was in love. I bought the car because I was a new driver insurance was so expensive on other cars and the ones I could afford were breaking down on me. So with the finance and insurance being so cheap I was able to afford the car which was great but little did I know it would cost me a lot more than that. 6 months in my clutch has gone, I had to get a new gearbox and the handbrake cable snapped which has caused me to have a big scratch on the front and side of my car.

This car perfectly fits my need for a hatchback. Although I'd like to try the GTI, I haven't been left short of power in any situation with the 1.2 petrol. The handling is nimble for the city. The ride is comfortable despite low profile tyres. It took about a week to get used to the combination engine/gearbox. The torque probably isn't very strong at low RPMs, but when one gets used to it, the car feels very natural to drive.

I have owned this car for 4 months now and this is my 2nd Peugeot and 4th car. I have to say that I was genuinely surprised by its performance being a very small engine. In fact, it's the fastest car I owned since 15 years (I owned a Peugeot 206 1.6, a VW Golf V 1.6, and a Renault Clio III 1.6 auto). The engine is excellent and sounds like a 6 cylinder note. The gear is excellent and very close to that of the Golf I had. Oddly enough, its performance go to the point that you don't have to push hard when going up a hill given it's a 1.2 3 cylinder engine. You just need to "caress" the pedal and then gear up and it goes all the way. The infotainment is excellent. Bluetooth USB and aux are standard as is the 7" touchscreen. 4 speakers front and 2 in the rear that produce a fairly nice sound quality. It's no Bose standard, but it'll do. The seating position is actually excellent given reviews say otherwise since the dials are over the neat small steering wheel: you see everything from left to right. All in all, I would recommend it to anyone looking for small engine performance with low weight (just over 900kg).

I have previously owned three Peugeots and love this brand of car. Each had its issues but none that would deter me from buying Peugeot again. It's just the luck of the draw with cars used or new! I really like driving my Peugeot 208 and the high specs make for an interesting drive eg, folding wing mirrors when car is closed my remote locking, climate control, park assist, and more. There is one problem: when I brake the car judders. Only had the car two months, so taking it to the garage to get brakes checked out. It is a gamble buying any car these days, but I really enjoy driving Peugeot.

I bought this car for its looks, ride and gadgets. It seemed quite well screwed together and the diesel is great for long haul motorway driving. It’s one of the few cars you can drive all day without any aches. There have been faults, though. In two years the a/c has been regassed twice and stills makes a noise like a dodgy fridge. The cambelt snapped at 30k miles and almost caused the engine to seize. There’s been a fault on the rear suspension causing it to knock at 35k, and now the clutch needs replacing at 44k. I’ve put more than 100k miles on hard-driven Japanese superminis, and they've only needed routine servicing and new tyres. Overall, the Peugeot has great looks and ride, but terrible quality – they don't seem to have progressed from my old 206.

Worst car Peugeot has ever made! The whole thing is poor! Awful handling, back pain seats, terrible front blindspots, the 7" display doesn't actually do anything and sound is poor, engine is slow and worse on fuel than the 207 and 206, grip on the road is really poor the list is endless. I am a Peugeot man, I have driven them for 12 years – several 406s, 206s and a 207, all superb but this thing is dog! Don't buy one! I can't moan about it enough to justify how bad, it doesn't even do 60 mpg very easily and im a professional advanced driver who doesn't drive fast, bring back the 207!

I have owned this car for about 6 months now. It's the allure trim level (one down from the GT) with all the added extras. It's also the 2016 face-lift model, with some nice chrome trim and noticeably more aggressive fenders and grill. The 208's drive is nice. It bounds around on country roads, sort of like a big labrador. The car glues itself to the tarmac on tight turns and accelerates well once revving past 3k. The handling at higher speeds lacks the authority of rivals VW Polo and Ford Fiesta. With a little more umming and arring beforing the body flops over and steers in. "Disconnected" is the word I'd use to describe the steering overall. The gearbox isn't punchy but rather like churning butter.-Lacking any kind of mechanical feel. However, this is soon forgotten because of the 208's great economy, cruise control, and automatic headlights. Not to mention infotainment system that syncs with Apple CarPlay. Prepare your Spotify playlists people! The interior looks fantastic, with touches of chrome and fake carbon fibre and the more premium models look brilliant on the outside too. My personal favourite colours are white or Peugeot's 'nera black' adorned with etched 17inch alloy wheels. Furthermore, the car is good for longer journeys with cruise control and a sturdy acceleration for the fast lane. The 208 boasts plenty of room throughout and the driving position is customizable for any driver. Peugeot's I-Cockpit is a lovely feature including mpg, digital speedo and tiny racing style steering wheel directly in front of you. I'd recommend the 208 to anyone who is looking for a no fuss, cheap but practical daily driver. However, I'd look at the more premium models as for a small bit of extra change you'll receive better features and an overall more attractive looking car. Anyone looking for spine-tingling performance would probably be better off driving another car. Or perhaps the GTI would tickle your fancy? -But then, for similar money, you could be sitting in the more respected Focus ST.

This is a review of the 3-cylinder Style edition (1.2 engine), which I owned for over two years before trading it in at a massive loss for a VW Polo. Good points are its wallowing French-style suspension and interior style. The seats are comfortable and fully adjustable and its petrol consumption on my admittedly non-rigorous rural cycle was very good at a lifetime average of 48.2 mpg, which was only slightly less than the onboard computer's estimated 49.1 mpg. Once, whilst motorway driving at 70 mph, the two cars in front of me collided and I was able to literally stand on the brakes and steer the car between the accident and the middle crash barrier without injury or damage. Brilliant! So why did I sell it? 1. The clutch snatched from new (as many others have complained) and although it improved over time it was never truly comfortable. Just ask yourself why you have NEVER seen a 208 used as a driving school car. 2. The massive windscreen stretching over your head lets in too much light yet does not aid visibility. I took to driving with the sun visor permanently down. 3. The tiny steering wheel and head-up display didn't stop me achieving a comfortable driving position but the small steering wheel amplifies every little movement to the road wheels making the car feel unstable. 4. The two-door version has massively heavy doors that some passengers, especially older ones, simply couldn't open when on an incline and led to me rushing around the car like a professional chauffeur to assist them. 5. The car developed a fault shortly after the second annual service that caused the engine to cut out without warning at around 50mph. This happened four times at intervals of between 30 miles and 2000 miles and the Peugeot dealer was unable to identify or fix the fault after four attempts. The nature of the fault ruled out any but the most sedate driving techniques and motorway driving meant keeping to the inside lane at all times, which is why I ditched the car. The 'infotainment' system is very awkward to use because the onscreen buttons require too firm a push to operate. Forget smartphone screen tapping and think 'digging a hole with your thumb'. I used the multi-function steering wheel instead of the screen. The satnav is appalling: its notion of 800 yards ahead might last for two miles or more, its turn directions came too late and its traffic camera feature didn't work at all, despite my having paid for regular updates. I reverted to setting up my old TomTom on the top of the dash. My car came with a panoramic roof with so-called mood lighting. Although the mood lighting was cool and it helps to see your passengers at night, I never found any use for the panoramic roof. Had I been able open it (my other car is a convertible) I could have seen the point, but in a car with so much glass already installed the panoramic roof remained permanently closed. SUMMARY The 208 Style is not the worst car I have ever owned - that accolade belongs to the BMW Mini Cooper Park Lane Edition - and neither is it the most expensive purchasing mistake I have ever made, but it still leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

Brilliant! Has all the gadgets you could want. Leather heated seats, aircon, cruise control, satnav, Bluetooth handsfree stereo, trip computer, reverse park assist, sensors, stop/start technology, glass roof, climate control, the list goes on. Decent power, excellent fuel economy, colour coded mirrors, seatbelts and a nice blue light trim for the interior roof which is a nice touch. Did I mention the alloys or the pearl white colour?

Great stylish looking car and certainly cannot fault the space in this one! Very good for a first car. I am experiencing some issues which do concern me though. Moving off is very difficult at times as the car judders and is VERY slow at picking up speed in first 2 gears. I do only have the 1.0Litre mind! The car has recently started to over Rev A LOT in first gear and I'm struggling with that so going to get it checked out. Fuel economy is amazing! Steering feels a bit too light also. It sticks in reverse sometimes too and gear change isn't the greatest.

Great little car, my wife loves it too. Admittedly we chose the Intuitive model, it's the one with all the bells and whistles. The seats are superb and hold you snug through the bends, the ride is excellent although it's on low profile tyres & 16" alloys which are also very attractive. Inside the cabin is just a nice place to be with all the classy finishes of the dash and touchscreen/ sat nav, the door handles that fade from metallic blue to black the tiny leather steering wheel that is both reach and rake adjustable. The ciello panoramic roof is superb and is a bonus when cleaning/ polishing plus the kids love it, there are also neat touches like blue led lighting around the dash gauges and also along the lines of the panoramic roof, the only let down her is the mood lighting in the foot wells is a dank yellowish light that I changed for blue Led's, now it all matches it looks great at night. I was very surprised that for a 1.2 Vti 3 cylinder engine it is surprisingly frugal and likes to be revved, the engine also makes a sporty growl when you get it going, don't get me wrong it's no land speed record maker but adequate on all roads, including motorways. The sleek, sporty lines of the 208 are quite beautiful, it is a delight to look at and better to drive. We have done about 5000 miles since buying it and we've had not an ounce of trouble, the front tyres are getting close to the limit now but I have purchased two Michelins for when they're right out. Overall I can honestly say that in all my years of driving this is a lovely little car and my wife and I are proud to own it. The very new ones have had a facelift but the first model still looks fresh and oozes class.

I got this car at 11 Months old (12,400 miles on the clock). From day 1 I've had electrical problems with it. They are as follows (in Order): Touch screen updates x2 replacement touchscreen x1 (with a 4 MONTH lead time!!!) temp sensor replacement x1 ESP/ASR issues x1 further touchscreen update x1 bluetooth gone to crap x1 2nd further touchscreen updatex1 ESP/ASR with Service light x1 In addition to that I've also got sticky rear breaks when it rains. The dealer has gone as far to say that some of these faults never happened despite having evidence that it has. All in all, its a useless car, that spends more tim in the garage than in my possession. Avoid at all costs

Fantastic car with excellent fuel economy considering the amount of traffic jams I encounter. The car feels a lot quicker than the 82hp suggests. The 1.2VTi is just a great little engine. Interior design and materials used is class leading . The small little wheels is a joy to use. Compared to its rivals... Nicer and much more modern interior compared to a Fiesta, not as boring as a Polo, not as plastic fantastic as a Clio and a more modern engine compared to a Rio or i20.

Fresh looks and tidy interior styling, but that's where the fun stops. The gearbox is awful, so wobbly and notchy with a long throw. The clutch has a rather high biting point and it is difficult to accelerate smoothly through 1st and 2nd gears where the car likes to lurch and hop like you used to be able to do with a manual choke for fun, only this isn't fun when you just want to pull away smoothly. The touchscreen doesn't auto-dim and is distracting at night, it doesn't like the cold (anything below 4 degrees Celsius and touch doesn't work and it shows error messages), the entertainment software is badly designed lacking in functionality and usability offering no benefit over a conventional head-unit and it tends to forget things like if you mute it because there's no actual way to turn it off, it un-mutes itself when you restart the ignition. Brakes are bad and grinding at 10k, other owners reporting brake problems at a lot less than 10k. Sporty seats are too wide and don't hug or support an average sized person so you just slop around in them through corners. Despite the hype about the newly designed heads-up-cluster, most of the driver information like MPG, trip, doors open, outside temp, ice-risk, etc has been moved to the touchscreen so you have to look further away and for longer from the road to see this information than in a conventional car. I would recommend you buy something better built and ergonomically designed like a Ford, Seat or VW. I wish I did.

This car is amazing. The big comfort in a cabin with a panoramatic window. Its nice. The engine is really the best for the 11 000 euros car. Thank you Peugeot.

I absolutely love my new 208, and so does my wife. I purchased it brand new at the beginning of March this year after test driving 2 or 3 other makes. What attracted me to the 208 initially was it's looks, especially in GT-Line trim. Nice exterior touches make the car look sportier than it actually is, although with the 110 engine it is quite nippy anyway. The service from my local dealer was absolutely first class. The salesman knew his product very well, and wasn't pushy in the slightest. I was offered a very good finance deal and the idea of the Just Add Fuel scheme attracted me but because I am an older driver the insurance wasn't really a problem so I opted for a straight forward PCP deal. I can see how the Just Add Fuel scheme could help somebody much younger though, as insurance is always a problem for them. I know I've only had my car a short while but I am already finding that it is "loosening" up nicely, acceleration and fuel economy have both improved now that I have a couple of thousand miles under my belt. The car has a very nice driving position for me (I'm 5'11") and my wife finds it good too, she is a lot shorter than me but has no problem with the controls at all. The height adjustable seat helps here, as does the fully adjustable steering wheel. The car is well equipped and has everything I could possibly want. Sound is very good from the stereo system fitted to the car, and the Bluetooth is wonderful. Lighting is very good too. We live in the country with some nasty tight lanes to negotiate, and at night the spread of light from the headlights is superb. I would recommend a 208 to anybody.

The peugeot 208 is stylish both in and out, I love my car it was cheap to buy, no problems till now, good to drive, good handling, acceptable sound insulation, the 1.6L petrol for a car this size delivers a very good performance making it agile. I have the very basic access model with impressive safety kit, 6 airbags, ESP as standard with a tyre pressure monitoring system. I love the fact that on slippery roads the car is glued to the ground unlike my old Toyota Yaris which easily slips. The aerodynamics of the car are really good, I love the small attention to details from Peugeot, reminders, dashboard displays. But the drawback is from the 4 speed automatic transmission that is slow to shift and is not smooth most of the time when going from gear to another impacting fuel economy. The car can get really thirsty when you drive recklessly knowing the car is small with a very light weight, also the 4 speed auto makes the car always rev above 2000-3000rpm, also being a slow auto impacts performance specially when overtaking someone but no problems at all till now. Concerning brakes they squeak and every 12000km need to be changed which is annoying, but are very responsive, and another customer's review highlighted the sticky rear breaks in wintery season which I am starting to notice. My complaint is about the cheap plastics that are easily scratchable. Getting in and out of the car is not as easy as rivals Toyota Yaris, Honda Jazz since rear doors don't open wide, doors have only two positions otherwise might close or open to the max bumping the car parking next to you. the plastics on the side of the doors are extremely thick making everyone getting in and out step on it resulting in scratch and dirty it would be much better if they were thinner, increasing foot space. The build quality of the car isn't that great ( acceptable). Unrevised door thuds, no rear interior light no rear speakers and I cannot install rear speakers because the radio is very basic and might get damaged. The gas and break pedals are high which is annoying but one can get used to them. In addition to that the dealer in my country is not that professional. But overall the car is great offers good equipment for a good price compared to my old Toyota, and one can overcome the mentioned minor comments when having an over all look.

Hi, I have already posted a review on my 208 intuitive but for some reason at the bottom of my review I noticed that the review read that I'd had problems with the car, I'd like to say I have had no issues with any of the things mentioned like electrics, clutch/ gearbox, engine, brakes or the suspension. What I have done to my intuitive is fit a set of the 17" GTi alloy wheels and 205/45-17 tyres it seems more refined now and smoother maybe it's the Michelin pilot sport tyres.

Love it! Amazing interior with the touchscreen and having the extras like reversing camera, active city stop plus more makes it all worth while. Engine is a bit underpowered but is great fun if you want to thrash it around or really good on fuel if you drive well. Seats are comfortable and hold well around tight bends.

This is by far the finest car I've ever owned. Admittedly I've purchased it with considerable optional equipment and top-spec detail, but I am supremely satisfied, and do not have any buyer's regret. The leather seats in the Allure line are very comfortable, and I find myself looking for excuses to take the car now, instead of simply using it as a transportation tool. The 6 speed gearbox is smooth, and easy both in the city and on the highway. The engine is very muted, and the car is remarkably quieter in operation than I expected it to be... Although the park pilot system is fun to use, admittedly, I find self-parking is much more precise and aggressive in small spots... No complaints - It's a wonderful vehicle, feels much bigger inside than it looks on the outside, and with 115hp on such a lightweight package, it certainly pulls when it needs to, and never ever struggles...

During the six months I drove this car, I had overall quite a comfortable ride. The steering was good on motorways, city and country roads. The engine didn't have too much punch, but good enough for everyday use. The seats are quite comfortable for longer distances as well, yet a bit crammed in the back if you drive around with 4 or 5 average adults. The boot was very decent and roomy for the cars class. Some (minor) downsides for me, were the clutch for first and reverse gear (car stuttered quite, especially in reverse. Was not a fault, according to the dealer), the touch screen (not all too user friendly), the small wheel (feels rather like a toy wheel, than sporty).
