This is my third Skoda Fabia having owned a MK1 Estate and two Mk2. My current car is by far the best of the three. The 1.2 TSI 105 engine is a cracker being very nippy around town and powerful enough to enjoy motorway cruising. The Elegance model is superbly equipped. Mine has cruise, rear park sensors, climate, curtain air bags etc, whilst the 7 speed DSG VW gearbox is the most fantastic auto I have ever owned. The car is very comfortable and extremely spacious while the boot is also huge. Reliability is right up there with the best.

I do my own servicing (trained motor engineer) and have always changed oil, filters and done regular checks as per manufacturer. It has never gone wrong. Minor warranty stuff done a couple of years ago because I'm fussy! I'd buy another Skoda - want a Yeti.

Replacement for one which broke on ave every 2 months, Oil level sensor went after a week, rear doors leaked after 6 months, Recent mirror switch fell out, window switches loose

Since I have had the vehicle it has never been unreliable. The only issue I have had is with an intermittant fault with the coolant sensor. This was rectified and no issues have occurs since.

Great car, but the low profile tyres send the effects of the worsting road conditions through to the cabin Have had two new tyres and one alloy due to pot holes in the last 4 months. Hence some mark downs.

Excellent well built car the only problem the rear heated screen only one wire worked skoda garage fitted new screen under warrancy they had not seen the fault before very pleased the service

Excellent performance from tsi engine. Dsg auto 7-speed box is a treat, but care is needed on takeoff to avoid lurching. This car is best on open road; not just as good about town. First-class value for money, especially with vat-off offer. Build quality is very good, as expected from vw group cars.

Excellent package. Bought it to get lower insurance group so my daughter (17) could drive it while learning to drive. Easy to drive and live with and no reliability problems in 18 months since new.

Very surprised a skoda could be such a good little car, practical and easy to drive, have even (accidentally) left it unlocked over night and it was still there in the morning!

The fabia is an excellent small car, it is honest, reliable and economical transport, that is also reasonably good to drive. The new 1.2 tsi engines are an absolute gem, good power and good economy too. The standard seats could have better side support though, and the optional armrest is useless as it blocks access to the handbrake. Whilst it is not the prettiest car on the road, it is not ugly either. I would recommend it.

Owned this car from new, nine years, 60,000 miles. One small fault - an ignition coil failed. Everything else is normal wear and tear, ie wiper blades, headlamp bulbs, tyres, brake pads and discs - still on original battery and exhaust. Nice car to drive, very easy and quite economical, a bit noisy and a bit underpowered on the motorway so I wouldn't have the 1.2 engine next time. But very good in urban driving. Comfort very good for a small car, and altogether a highly practical vehicle. Not bad in snow either (Northern drivers note).

Well designed and spacious but is starting to develop more and more faults. First a clunk every time the car goes over a bump which the garage have been unable to rectify despite numerous visits and now the oil light coming on only three months after the first major service. Also vibrating parts in the cabin which annoy and have had to be rectified. Worst of all however is the steering which is just plain odd. The car is not living up to the owners reviews I read before buying it!

Fantastic , under rated hatchback with oodles of mid range grunt. I've made a few sympathetic upgrades, remap to 175 bhp and increased torque, spax adjustable suspension, uprated brakes, and a full leather interior by seat surgeons. Build quality is good, and the all round performace quite impressive, whilst still returning 45 - 50 mpg on normal usage.Money Well spent.
