By and large I found this car to be a very good value family vehicle. Large boot and rear passenger leg room are very good. The engine is the common rail turbodiesel which is great. However, after the hundred thousand mile mark was reached the turbo actuator gave up so a new turbo was installed (£1200), and at around the 120,000 mark the ABS unit failed (£2000) plus MOT and labour etc. A Warning here regards the obtainability of this unit as apparently this is such a common fault on VAG units that they are very hard to obtain off the shelf. So all in all I rate the car as good but requires servicing on the dot.

The name says it all, SUPERB! I bought this car as an ex-demonstrator from the local Skoda dealer at only 10 months old and only 1300 miles on the clock. I've had it for 6 months now and been on five long business trips, plus lots of local running around. Overall mpg around 65, reaches 68 on the long trips at motorway speeds. The interior space is impressive, massive boot, lots of rear legroom, plenty of room in the front. Lots of equipment, Satnav, phone connection, trip computer, hard disc for music, cruise control, tyre pressure monitor, rear parking sensors (essential in this car), etc. etc. Wondering how the "no spare wheel" will work out, do I trust the temporary repair kit? Greenline spec has low rolling resistance tyres and lowered suspension which combine to give a slightly harsh ride on uneven roads, but no problem at all on good surfaces. Absolutely no problems up to now. Wonderful value for money. I had two 1.9 Tdi Octavias before this so I know that Skodas are reliable and economical to service.

I purchased the car after upgrading from a reliable but electrical and mechanical fault ridden VW Golf, having heard glowing reviews from all and sundry. Boy do I wish I didn't. My first and last Skoda, for sure. One fault is fixed and another appears, DMF failed, head gasket failed, indicator relay failed, front suspension wear, blown fuses, failed tailgate. What a piece of junk. It has cost me over 2k in repairs in the last year. Great car other than that, but you better have deep pockets, because most of the faults are big ticket items.

I was about to buy brand new Octavia III in the store when I was enlighten by the fact that I can get a Superb with the same price tag. The model I have bought is 2.0 diesel with 140BHP which is having more features than average Octavia III model and costs exactly the same money (I have bought Active version with somme add-ons). Usually I'm using this car to drive to work (around 8 km in town) and every other week to drive to the countryside (400km) so the diesel engine was the best pick. On day to day commuting to work I get around 40 MPG, but on the long way cruising (above 70 MPH) fuel consumption is reduced to 56 MPG. Car is extremely comfy for this money, long trips are not exhausting at all. Up to 90MPH you cannot hear noise level increase. After 15k miles I do not see any shortcomings in this car. Of course it is not A8 or BMW 7,but for this money? I would definetly buy it once again.

I am a sales director that drives 50,000 per year. this being a mixture of around towns and a lot of long distance trips. I live in kent, but monthly get to Penzance in the SW and Newcastle in the north. I recently fancied a change from my 2010 octavia, i wetn again for the 1.6TDI Engine mainly to avoid the high road tax, both of these cars are only £30 per year. The fuel economy appears to be very similar, despite the Superb being a much bigger car. My average diesel cost is between £0.10 and £0.11 per mile driven. I do drive carefully, but even so this is a great figure. What has surprised me though is the difference in the build quality of the Superb, it feels far more refined and sturdier, the difference is outstounding!! I have had this car 3 weeks and covered 3200 miles so far, and am frankly delighted, and this from a non car enthusiast. My only small gripe, is I wish I had the front parking sensors and headlight washers. When I look to change this car in 30 months, I very much doubt I will even look at anything other than a Skoda.

I've had no problems until this summer ,when it has been regularly going into limp mode . my local garage cured this with forte. Every time it rains the brake pad warning light comes on.also fixed by local garage.

Mechanically the majority of parts are still original and it has only required 1 call to a breakdown service which proved to be a garage error rather than a true breakdown.

I am very impressed with the overall performance of the car, i have a family of five and it's perfect for us. The boot culd be a bit more user friendly, however this has been remedied on the new model.

As the name says superb, i previously had, a 2 litre and a 3 litre Jaguar from new. and changing to the superb was not a climb down. Infact the driving position is a lot better than the jaguars,performance is equal (170bhp), so what can i say but "superb"

All round it has been excellent - bought at 10,500 miles and now showing 69,000 miles. The only disapointment is the restricted access to the boot but skoda have addressed this in the variation which followed. If i am certain that i am going to keep it for more than two years i will probably get a gas conversion as a 2.8 v6 petrol automatic is not the most frugal on fuel consumption, but i knew this when i bought it. It will still get 36 to the gallon on a motorway run.

Excellent, should be car of the year. A couple of very minor quibbles, i would prefer 6th gear to be set 300-400 rpm lower, e.g. so at 70mph i cruised at 1800rpm not 2200rpm, the current gear ratio just isn't perfect (economically) for driving in the uk. Was excellent on some road trips, including a trip to europe, where the ability to just switch the adaptive headlights to the other side without needing stickers was much appreciated, as was the comfortable ride, cruise control, and vast space. Comfort and legroom is brilliant. Only other tiny criticism is the boot isn't flat to the read seats when they're folded down. Two fairly minor criticism though to a car i prefer to 5-series, at half the price with extra kit!

Nothing major has gone wrong with the car. I read all the reviews beforehand and everything in the auto express reviews is true! The superb is an excellent car and has the quality of brands well above this price range. This is the first car that i have had several comments about, with people telling me that the car looked great and they loved the syling - one of my neighbours actually bought one as well after me. Only slight negative comment is that it is a tight fit across the back seat for 3 car seats. Otherwise perfect and i really expected the greenline version to be more basic and underpowered with the older 1.9 diesel - but i've no complaints

Outstanding build quality, has more comforts then other cars ihave had jag, bmw. Once i had taken the superb for an extended test drive i was hooked i desided to purchase the superb exchaninging my x type for the 170 bhp 20.0tdi and have been more than happy with its performacne and quality. The dealership has also provided me with outstanding service. The car has just had it first service at 18868 mile so against no concerns in runing costs. Skoda super is once of the best car i have had the pleasure in drtiving and have had many vehicles over the years from many manufactories.

Superb by name and superb in style, performance, luxury and reliability! Elegance is the trim level and elegance is what you get from its cream leather, beautiful wood trim, waft along 168bhp engine with plenty of poke matched to the delightful dsg box. Every gadget you could ever need all wonderfully put together for £24k. You could not get a better bmw, merc or audi for twice the price (considering it is an audi - but with more legroom and far cheaper to run)!!
