Hot car deal: Hybrid Toyota Corolla hatchback for £242 a month

Our hot car deal for May 28th is a global best-seller; the Toyota Corolla for just £242 a month

Toyota Corolla front quarter

The Toyota Corolla has been around for a long time and for good reason. It’s a family hatchback formula that just works – it prioritises efficiency, comfort and reliability over sportiness and flair, a decision that has made it the best-selling car ever produced. The 2024 model in this deal offers those same qualities but with the latest interior and safety tech that drivers expect, making it a tempting family car proposition – especially at this price.

What’s so good about this Toyota Corolla deal?

This three-year deal is offered by Leasecar.uk and it looks to be pretty good value to us – especially given the fuel-sipping hybrid tech on offer. With monthly payments of £241.52, following an initial payment of £2,898.25, you can drive off in a brand new Corolla that’s in stock and ready to go. What’s more, the Corolla in question comes in Design trim, meaning you get 17-inch alloy wheels, privacy glass, LED headlights, a reversing camera and a wireless phone charger on top of the base model’s kit list.

Like most lease deals, you can tailor the payments to suit you. If you’d rather hand over slightly less upfront, you can opt to increase the monthly payment. There’s a mileage limit of 5,000 per year, but this can be increased if you’re willing to pay slightly more upfront and each month.

What really stands the Corolla apart from other family hatchbacks is its efficient hybrid system. Labelled a self-charging hybrid, Toyota claims the Corolla can achieve up to 61.4mpg – an impressive figure that will even embarrass some diesels. The 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol engine puts out 138bhp through a CVT automatic gearbox, with owners praising its efficiency and reliability in our recent Driver Power survey.

What’s so good about the Toyota Corolla?

Toyota has been building Corollas since 1966, and it's fair to say that it knows what it’s doing in 2024. The latest model packs the traits that the Japanese brand is famous for – quirky styling, impressive efficiency and a reassuring reliability record – into a practical family hatchback body. Some rivals may have flashier interior tech and more boot space, but the Corolla’s hybrid powertrain offers a refined driving experience that excels around town and doesn’t feel out of its depth on the motorway. The interior received a helpful refresh in 2023, with a new 10.5-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto helping to keep the Corolla fighting fit among a competitive class of rival hatchbacks.

Anything else I need to know about this deal?

This is a lease deal, often referred to as Personal Contract Hire (PCH), so there’s no option to buy the car at the end of the contract. You are effectively renting the car for the three-year term, but the deal is very flexible so you can adjust the term length, mileage limit and initial payment size to suit, but only at the outset. Once the deal is over, you just hand the keys back and start looking for your next car.

Our hot deals are carefully selected by our car buying experts and they are all subject to change. Always read the full terms and conditions and make sure the car and the deal suits your needs before proceeding.
