Kia Ceed Sportswagon estate - Reliability & safety

If you're the sort of person who hates unexpected bills, Kia's seven-year/100,000-mile warranty should suit you down to the ground. It's backed up with a solid performance by the brand in our most recent Driver Power owner satisfaction survey, so despite the Ceed undergoing significant changes, buying one is unlikely to be a big risk.

Kia Ceed Sportswagon reliability

It was another top-ten appearance for Kia in our 2022 Driver Power owner satisfaction survey, with the South Korean brand coming third overall. This was almost as good as its impressive second-place finish last year, proving it was no fluke. Owners were especially pleased with running costs, reliability and Kia's infotainment. 

Kia managed to get three vehicles in our list of the top ten best cars to own, including the XCeed which topped the charts. The Kia Ceed, meanwhile, finished strongly coming 16th out of the 75 top cars – one place higher than last year with owners again praising its reliability, practicality, and build quality.

Safety

While Euro NCAP hasn't released crash-test ratings for the Ceed Sportswagon, the independent body has tested the Ceed hatchback. It scored four stars as standard, or the full five stars if you opt for the safety package. It features more safety equipment than ever, including lane-keeping assistance, automatic headlights and autonomous emergency braking fitted as standard. 

The facelift also ushered in some new technology, including a blind-spot collision avoidance system and a warning if the vehicle in front pulls away and you fail to respond. A new rear-view monitor can also help with reversing and hitching up a trailer. It's now also possible to activate the rear-view camera while moving, which could be handy if the rear window is obscured by passengers, luggage or grime.
