Audi S4
Price: £48,675 - £50,175
The Audi S4 saloon and S4 Avant estate are both switching from petrol to diesel at the end of this year. The 342bhp 3.0-litre V6 diesel will make this the most powerful S4 model ever, and will produce a huge 700Nm of torque.

Audi S5
Price: ~ £55,000
That same engine will also make its way into the Audi S5 Coupe, Sportback and Cabriolet. The switch to diesel power is to reduce fuel consumption, which is helped by mild-hybrid technology that’ll cut the engine when the car is coasting.

Audi S6
Price: £60,220 - £77,220
Unusually, the new Audi S6 saloon and Avant use the same powertrain as the smaller S4 above. Here, the 342bhp diesel engine manages the 0-62mph sprint in five seconds, a couple of tenths of a second slower than the S4 models.

Audi S7 Sportback
Price: £68,680 - £86,680
Another fast Audi to get the mild-hybrid diesel treatment is the S7, which shares its engine with the cars above. A claimed fuel economy figure of 36.2mpg is reasonably impressive, but the new car will have around 100bhp less than the old S7.
