Hyundai i30 N ‘N Option’ shows off sporty extras
N Option show car kitted out in accessories that give Hyundai i30 N more extreme appearance
The Hyundai i30 N ‘N Option’ has been unveiled at the Paris Motor Show, essentially acting as a show car for forthcoming accessories and options set to be offered to buyers of high-performance Hyundais in the brand’s N range.
The N Option was designed especially for the show, but Hyundai says it’ll be launched ‘in the near future’. The N Option will basically be a standard i30 N with a styling pack, but some of the sporty extras seen on the show car may be offered as individual options to buyers of any Hyundai wearing an N badge.

The i30 N N Option has several carbon body parts, including a rear wing featuring the N emblem and a bonnet with integrated air vents. Quad exhausts and a red grille surround are also new, as are lightweight 20-inch alloy wheels. The white matt paint was created specifically for the show car, but could be offered as a paint choice in the future.
The N Option’s interior is full of extra sporty touches, such as black carbon accents around the air vents and door handles, an Alcantara-covered steering wheel, and bucket seats in Alcantara with red trim. Sport pedals and an upgraded gearknob are the highlights among several other customisation options for the inside of the car.
After the standard Hyundai i30 N was launched, Hyundai introduced the i30 N Line, a model that retained some of the i30 N’s sporty styling but without the same level of performance. Whereas the N Line is a diluted model of the i30 N, making it cheaper to run and insure, the N Option will be a more concentrated version. It’ll have the same turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine as the i30 N but many of the 25 motorsport-inspired extras seen on the show car in Paris, giving it a more extreme look and feel overall.
Thomas Schemera, executive vice president of the high-performance vehicles and motorsport division at Hyundai, said: “The new i30 N Line and our i30 N ‘N Option’ show car illustrate our dual approach to customisation, making N available to a wider audience.”
There’s been no official confirmation of the price of an N Option version of the i30 N or when it’ll be launched, but Carbuyer will bring you all the information as soon as it’s available.
