Peugeot EV customers benefit from new 8-year, 100k-mile warranty
‘Allure Care’ warranty cover extended to eight years for nearly all new Peugeot electric cars
- New eight-year, 100,000-mile warranty
- Applies to nearly all new Peugeot EVs
- Warranty extended after each service
Peugeot has introduced a new eight-year, 100,000-mile warranty to almost its entire range of electric cars, in a move to boost EV sales and remain competitive among manufacturers with increasingly generous warranties.
The ‘Allure Care’ programme was initially available for the new Peugeot E-3008 only, but as of July 4th 2024, it will be expanded to include the E-208, E-308 and E-308 SW, along with the E-2008 and E-5008 SUVs. The new electric E-408 – arriving later this year – will also be covered by the new warranty.
The only EVs excluded from the scheme are the Peugeot E-Rifter and E-Traveller MPVs, both of which make do with Peugeot’s standard three-year, 60,000-mile warranty.
Allure Care covers the electric motor or motors, the charger, the transmission and major electrical and mechanical components. It will be applied automatically from purchase at no added cost, and can be transferred between owners if the car is sold within the warranty period.
Customers will be responsible for maintaining their Peugeot in line with its recommended servicing schedule at an official dealer. With every service, the warranty period will be extended by two years or 16,000 miles, up to the maximum of eight years and 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.
The French manufacturer already offered a warranty of identical length for just the battery of its EVs, but the new Allure Care programme expands this to cover a wider range of electrical and mechanical components. Peugeot claims it’s the first manufacturer in Europe to offer such comprehensive EV coverage – for context, MG’s warranty extends to seven years/60,000 miles for its EVs while Kia offers cover for seven years/100,000 miles. Electric Renaults are covered by a three-year/100,000-mile warranty, plus an additional eight-year/100,000-mile for just the battery.
