Have owned for 2 years with no major problems. A bit heavy on front tyres.

Audi's DSG auto gearbox and modern electrics are good – the tyre pressure monitoring has has saved me. I don't like the electric dipstick which shows if oil needs to be added but doesn't say how much. The manual states 0.50 Litres but I would like it to measure the oil level well before, perhaps with a gauge on the screen so it can become part of a weekly check. My previous A4 could check all the lights, oil, computers, and battery state with the press of one button – this car only can check one item only at a time. The tailgate lifts higher than my garage door, it would be good if you could set how far it opens. Water runs from the tailgate into the boot if it's open when it's raining, too. Mine is an automatic with sports mode and a manual override – I only drive it in automatic mode as that's what an automatic is for.

Beautiful well built car. My first Audi but not my last. Recently drove 700 miles mainly on motorways and achieved 54 mpg, regularly drive 12 miles to work on a roads etc and acheive over 60 mpg. Although a diesel can cope with any situation as drives well and can soon build a head of steam.

+Still a head turner in SE trim. +Very smooth and comfortable ride. +Engine is quiet and economical, but has enough torque to manoeuvre comfortably on the motorway. +Cabin is well laid out and uses quality materials. +So far no mechanical or electrical problems. +Will do about 500 miles on a £75 tank if you drive sensibly. +Did I mention how pretty the car is? Pillar less doors and flowing lines... -Audi are stingy with the options, it can feel a bit basic compared to most modern cars. -Paint had an "orange peel" effect in places upon delivery. -Steering feels a bit disconnected. -Front end was a bit hard to judge at first. -Low clearance means you need to be extra careful on unkept or high speed bumps. It is worth paying extra for an S-Line model. You get the Xenon/LED lights which look amazing, more stylish wheels, better seats and now navigation as standard (usually a £1500+ option) All of which you will be kicking yourself for missing out on as they are difficult and expensive to retrofit.

The car is less than 1 year old and has had a seal leak which put water on to the parking brake control unit, which then had to be replaced. The first thing the technician said to me when I dropped off the car was "had it been raining". Not the quality I had expected when buying from Audi.

Excessive oil consumption , 1500 miles to 1litre of oil, Various sensors changed as were faulty Also it has no dipstick . Just so very infuriating when the sensor to tell you ow much oil is in it is also faulty

To date never had fault that has not enabled car to be driven.

It hasn't broken down - but then a car less than two years old with a premium price tag shouldn't. There are a few minor niggles though, such as the windscreen washer jets which the dealer can't seem to get right. Plus the car is losing oil.
